Well shit...I think we could have made a deal with those Sabbath ones if you had something I was missing...although the postage would have been waaaay too expensive anyways.
My Gillan collectionVery cool. I have Future Shock and Double Trouble. Jeez, I haven’t spun them in such a long time. Might have to now.

I know Jack is going to post a bunch of pics, so I wanted to beat him to the punch with one I just listened to, French pressing from Bronze (please excuse the glare):Love this. There’s also a Japanese die-cut 12” version called Motorschool with 3 extra tracks and some cool cartoon artwork that I’d like to own. Thanks for sharing.

Well thought I'd start with my collection as well...Very nice collection Charger. It looks Blaze puts a lot of work into the art and packaging with his albums. Neat signature too.
So first off is my Blaze stuff.
All signed by the man himself naturally.

The last part of the trilogy came with the box that you can fit all 3 in...with a numbered and named certificate plus a photo book, lyrics used in the recording process and lots of other stuff.

Silicon Messiah is the 15th anniversary edition...it was never released on vinyl originally.
The Man Who Would Not Die is the original very limited run from 2007.
This year the second Blaze album TENTH DIMENSION will also be released on vinyl...preorders from Blaze started a while ago...naturally I was among the first people to order that too.

The Creeping Death Picture disc looks awesome! They do now but not back when I acquired them.
That's pretty cool to have so many copies of the same album....Cost a small fortune I imagine!
Some are colour changes or different album title.
Not sure how you make a flaming pussy out of R&W though :twitch:

^^^ You haven’t heard the story behind the Rocka Rolla cover? Depending on what or who you believe the band apparently weren't happy with the original cover as they didn’t think it fitted their image as a heavy metal by the time the 80’s rolled around, but the other theory was that they were threatened by a lawsuit from the Coca Cola company if they didn’t change it.
That is pretty cool looking boxset indeed. No it was the $20 Ordinary Man cds. These and the Ordinary Man vinyls have been proven to be legit Ozzy sigs.
But weren't these the exact ones where they got caught on just copying Ozzy signature?

Impressive boxset, and with the authenticated signature the price now seems reasonable.Reasonable for those that live in the U.S. It cost me $674USD with taxes and shipping which when converted to Aussie dollars worked out to $1010. That’s about $63 each vinyl. A hell of a lot of money. Works out about $34 a vinyl for those that live in the U.S. That’s pretty reasonable with the boxset, posters and signature thrown in.
^^^I couldn’t either but I just had to have it. People are selling these for $1500 on Discogs and eBay and a lot are also breaking them up and selling the vinyls separately and getting very good money for them, especially albums like Live & Loud, Ozzmosis and Down To Earth which previously were fetching $400-500 for original pressings and others like Black Rain and Budokan which had never been released on vinyl. Once these are sold out and only available on the secondary markets the price will skyrocket and $1000 will seem like a bargain and I would’ve been kicking myself if I hadn’t decided to pull the trigger now.
Yikes! I could never afford that!
Anyways...here's pics of something I did afford to buy...Very nice Charger. I have the Turn Up The Night 12”. Don’t have the Megadeth Anarchy one though.
Talking about those Picture discs here are mine:
Iron Maiden's Out Of The Silent Planet double pack 12" and a 7" red vinyl singles Both numbered:

DIO's Master Of The Moon original picture disc:

Then something maybe bit more rare...I don't know...
Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley Live 12" Picture Disc:

(These cost around 30€ and upwards nowadays...I think I paid 15€ for it...)
And then an easy trivia question for Jack...
What band?
Just some cool little Ozzy oddities outside of his general studio & live discography I’ve amassed over the years.I knew I had these.somewhere. Went through the whole collection today and of course I found them in the last section of my collection, amongs the bootlegs.

Yeah the music and movie didn't quite mix...Not enough Heavy Metal...for a movie named Heavy Metal...also what annoyed me was that in the movie they played more of E5150 than Mob Rules... :D
I think...it's been like 20+ years since I've seen it...
Get it for the alternate version of "The Mob Rules"This

Very nice Lizzy collection! Man, I have got to get those live albums lol.One of those little personnal stories as I love to read them and that make memories engraved forever ... great words , Vyn :beerbang:
Speaking of the Eric Bell era:
A long time ago we had a bunch of family over for a "no kids" get together. I was playing music, and my sister-in-law asked to hear some Thin Lizzy.
ME: "Sure thing, anything in particular?"
HER: "No, just whatever."
So I put on their first record. About thirty seconds into The Friendly Ranger at Clontarf Castle people were asking "what the fuck is that?" and I told them "sister-in-law requested it." LOL An acquired taste that she wasn't prepared for.
Congrats Tyr. Very nice to have the set. You shouldn’t have any trouble picking up “Stranger in us All” if you so desire it. Was only first issued on vinyl in 2018.
What set are you working on next?
That's the full set, for sure. So, yes, what's next?
That's very cool Tyr!
I've been thinking about getting the Dio-fronted albums, but they're pretty hard to come by already...in good condition atleast.
I should have added to the pic the Live of the first Monsters of Rock edition with Rainbow in the headliner. It was the first time that me and my brother have listened to Rainbow.

We need to see that one :) Great collection!
The very first Donington Monsters of Rock festival in 1980. Must’ve been a record company issue as to why Judas Priest didn’t end up on the album. They were 2nd on the bill.
The mailman (actually, a mail lady in her 60s) delivered a fucking treasure-trove of records to my home this morning. As I'm getting them sorted, I had to go ahead and drop one of them on the turntable. A critical gap in my Thin Lizzy collection is now filled, and 1978's Live and Dangerous is currently shaking the walls:

Bravo ! :abbath:
Fantastic original copy Vyn! now THE big question: did you have the poster inside this mega gatefold sleeve? this one is just super rare.
That's a fine haul from the record show! What label is Rocka-Rolla on?
Thanks Vyn I’ll figure that out and see if it works for me.
@Tyr, it’s a nice set, same as the previous deluxe book style sets they’ve been putting out but I don’t for the life of me understand why they didn’t do a big deluxe style box set for this this like they did the “79” and “Ace of Spades” boxsets. Annoying!
Btw I only just seen your haul on the previous page. Very nice, especially the “Power of the Hunter”album and always great to have an original Gull pressing of “Rocka Rolla”
Is that the French band Trust you scored? Nicko McBrains band prior to joining Maiden.
So are you saying that you can upload images direct from your device? If so, what is the icon you click on to adjust the size of the picture?
Testing 1 2
Do you mean use paint to reduce the size of the photo before uploading it to photobucket?
I post from my iPad so paint is not an option. Can’t remember the last time I used my pc to log in here, it’s been that long.
Testing 1 2
Ok, but when you said if you can find a picture small enough didn’t you just choose the smallest option on the attachment link at the bottom? I think the next size up is too big to upload to here.
While in lockdown I’ve been replacing a lot of my vinyls from the old pvc sleeves to polyethylene sleeves. Have been hearing for a few years that the old pvc sleeves can ruin your vinyl so have slowly been replacing them the last few years. Wasn’t until a few weeks ago though that I decided to take it a little more seriously when speaking with a record store owner that had recently forked out $3000 for a deceased estate record collection. He discovered that they were all in the old pvc sleeves and quite a few of them are ruined. Thanks for that helpful information Jack, but I want to make sure I understand this: Is this the protective sleeve that the vinyl cover slips into? which means that there is a chemical reaction which will pass through the cardboard and the paper?
It’s like a chemical reaction with the pvc and the vinyl which leaves a misty foggy layer on the vinyl which effects play with a hissing sound. After hearing a first hand account I decided to pick up 120 new sleeves the other day and started replacing them in bulk. So far I have found 3 only that have been effected which is a relief but I still have many hundreds to do. The 3 effected were “Defenders of the Faith” which I have another copy anyway, Metallica’s “Garage Days ReRevisted The $5.98 ep” which I have another 5 copies of and “The Eternal Idol” which is my one and only copy :(
Also I assume the many of the old picture discs I have that were sold in pvc sleeves back in the day have been effected as well but you can’t see the fogginess through the picture.

^^^^^^
I doubt Jack can do all that from his phone.
I honestly don’t see the point in opening it just because I’m inquisitive and it will only confirm the the inevitable pain anyway...but I can be a sucker for punishment
Surely the record company must be culpable for such shoddy packaging even after 13 years. They can't be ignorant as to the effect of the PVC?They weren’t culpable 10-13 years ago when the problem was first brought to their attention so they’re hardly going to be culpable now. It does make you really annoyed of the stupidity of it though. It wasn’t pressed as a stand alone vinyl set so you can’t even pick up another vinyl and put it in the boxset and the album didn’t sell very good either so it probably won’t get a reissue.
I just remembered my King Diamond The Lake EP picture disc !!! It has been into a PVC plastic sleeve for tens of years ... luckily, it's flawless and in a white paper sleeve right now.Good chance it will be ruined. Only way of knowing would be to give it a play
Well goddamn Jack...that sucks ass.Give it it play as well. My AC/DC Power Up album is the limited edition picture disc. I noticed it was in a pvc sleeve as well so removed it today. I did notice a very small patch of fog on it but didn’t give it a spin. Hopefully I’ve saved it before it was too late. It seems these record companies still haven’t learnt though.
I'm gonna be checking out my vinyls...although I am pretty sure all of mine are in paper sleeves though....part from the Master Of The Moon picture disc I've had on my wall..that's in a plastic sleeve and probably then destroyed...but I can't see anything wrong with it because of the picture.
Sorry to see that Jack, but yeah, not unexpected. I've kept mine because I could never bring myself to throw them in the trash, but can't even play them so not sure why lolI think if there’s one positive albeit a very small one, I bought it back in 2008 when it came out, preordered it actually, so I only paid retail which from memory was around $100 and not the $200-$350 they fetched a few years later.

 I'm not a vinyl collector at all, but I was wondering, is the environmental conditions playing a role in causing this problem for you guys? Temperature fluctuations and humidity may be accelerating the process. I would think that storing these albums in a consistently cool and dry place could slow down, and maybe even prevent this from happening. Museums which house rare artworks, that are hundreds of years old, pay close attention to environmental conditions or their rare pieces would deteriorate.I wouldn’t say the environment per se is having a factor but how you store and the temperature you store your vinyl at can play a part in your vinyl deteriorating quicker than it otherwise would. But it’s not really a factor in this particular case. Pvc and vinyl is straight up a bad mix and pvc with direct contact on vinyl over a period can be flat out disastrous, as shown in the photos I posted.
Give it it play as well. My AC/DC Power Up album is the limited edition picture disc. I noticed it was in a pvc sleeve as well so removed it today. ^^^Yep that’s correct. Although it think that particular version also appeared on The Best of album that came out in 78. It’s actually a different version recorded during the Sad Wings sessions than the recording that appeared on Sin After Sin.
I was wondering where Diamonds and Rust was, I Googled it and discovered it was only a bonus track on the 1987 remaster... so I guess I didn't know the album before 1987!
@Tyr and Vyn, it’s gone under the radar a fair bit but Halford’s debut solo album Resurrection is getting a reissue on vinyl in November and Century Media has a limited edition of 300 on silver vinyl to pre order if you’s are interested. https://centurymedia.store/search/?storeId=4987&includeArtistSearch=false&searchTerm=Halford
So received the first of my Savatage Sirens LP’s today and much to my surprise the one I ordered from Amazon which I thought was the black vinyl edition was in fact the limited turquoise edition, so I actually will have 2 of these turquoise editions when the 2nd one rocks up which I’m more than happy with as they’re more limited and collectable than the black vinyl edition.
Will open the less pristine of the two when the 2nd one arrives and post photos of the actual turquoise vinyl.

You tracked one of these down yet Charger?
It’s been held up in Sydney for over a week now which is frustrating ::)
LolLooks like we will be for a while.
Sydney is the Covid capital of Australia right now
Yeah I'm thinking about it... I might send them an e-mail and see what they say over there.Music glue are handling KK’s Priest merch and they’re notoriously bad at packaging/shipping but usually very good at offering replacements on lost or damaged goods. Metallica opened up European merch arm and put Music glue in charge of it and there’s been some horror stories of bad packaging, mainly on the limited edition lithos Metallica puts out. You’re lucky if they arrive uncreased or not crushed due to being poorly rolled and sent in thin tubes. But they always come to the party in offering replacements. They’ve literally had to replace full runs of numbered lithos in the past. Just send them the photos of the damage.
Haven't had the chance to listen to the album yet though with this Battlefield 2042 beta going on but I'll see if I can listen to it later today.
This morning following a missed professional meeting, I visited a record store that I frequent from time to time and which has very reasonable prices. As always, go to the vinyl sector and of course to the section of our favorite music and I find this! :Thats awesome Tyr. Very happy you were able to track a copy down at a good price. Enjoy!

Very jealous of Jack and Charger >:D, I did not expect so much. This new copy only cost me 22 €! Cant 'believe it. :guitar:

Love reading all of this, it's so cool. My youngest daughter is getting married next week, and they are going to honeymoon in Jamaica.
My first thought was "that's great, have fun!"
My second thought was "I need to give her details about the record I'm looking for and have her and my son-in-law scour record stores for the Yellowman album I'm looking for"
It's a disease.

Well, did you resist the urge to get them to scour the isle for the album?
It's not unheard of for parents to go on the honeymoon too... let's face it they're not going to have time looking through old record shops! :D

Turns out it’s the the extremely rare Blizzard of Ozz milk crate sun bleached edition variant
The member genuinely thought he was onto something rare and special lmao
What was it you ordered? Was it a new Sabbath vinyl remaster or something? Whatever it is the vinyl would be worth quite a bit more than the CD so you could always sell the vinyl and make some money and re-purchase the CD. Or just use the extra vinyl to play and keep the one in the boxset in new condition. The recent issue of Sigh (Japanese avantgarde black metal) - Scenario IV.
We have the Thanksgiving holiday coming up this Thursday - I should have picked up a bunch of those Carcass box sets and set them out for dinner placements lol.
BUT the main thing is I can finally play vinyl! :)

Welcome to the disease! :beerbang:
Aye, they're putting out old-school style punk music for sure. I don't know wtf Green Day puts out.
This, being the last day of 2021, I thought I'd start it off with this gem:
Update regarding Century Media. I rechecked my email and I did get one from them indicating that there is a problem and I need to give them a CC for the order. Given what happened to you Jack, I think I'm going to just sit on it a bit.Turns out my CC didn’t get frauded after all. It was an Amazon preorder from 6 months ago which funnily enough was the black vinyl version of Resurrection. Dirty on Amazon as when I contacted them to question the charge they told me there was nothing on my account to indicate the charge and to contact my bank. I got a shipping confirmation from them 2 days ago. I cancelled my card for no reason and yesterday spent a couple of hours contacting the companies that I have monthly direct debits with to update my new CC details. So you will be good to go with Century Media Vyn. Did you originally pay with PayPal?
^^There’s an Aussie metal band called Spacegoat with a female singer but I think they’re more Alternative metal. That cover looks more like stoner/doom or desert rock?
No the distributer doesn’t have a warehouse in Sydney. My guess is that the courier company are incompetent fuckwits!
They auto-issued a refund and I'm going to turn around and rebuy it.
But yeah arriving safe and sound is more important that speed to me as well.
Seriously, congrats on getting the catalog completed. That's got to be a satisfying feeling.
My mom has thousands of 45s that she transferred to MP3s, which I enjoy digitally.
My LP data entry is complete! Quick stats:Congrats on cataloging your vinyl collection onto a data base Vyn. Such a mammoth and meticulous task. Especially if you’re cataloging pressing/catalogue numbers. I started doing mine a few years ago on discogs and thought I’d start with my Metallica collection. Got halfway through Ride The Lightning and gave up.
1164 total pieces
797 are first pressing originals
121 are white label promotional copies
119 are re-issued pressings
74 have promotional labels (just not white)
21 are half-speed mastered copies
16 are test pressings
6 are bootlegs
5 are picture disks
3 are acetates
1 is a counterfeit (fucking Snake Bite Love)
1 is a puzzle (More Songs About Buildings and Food - it's a promo item, the cover of the LP is a puzzle)
Oldest: May 1956 (I have some 78's and some Edison disk that are like 83rpm, but can't play any of them so didn't count them)
Newest: September 2021
I have some box sets stashed away that I didn't include, and a small stack of 45s I need to get to, but this is the mainline collection. As much as it was a time sink, it was fun to go through all of them. Found a few I forgot I had, didn't find a few I thought I did have lol.
Could this be what you heard?
Ashes to ashes? Dust to dust? So let it be! In God we trust.
Well an old friend of mine from Netherlands has just opened a record store dealing with old (and some new) vinyl...he said I'd be getting first dibs on all Sabbath and Purple stuff atleast that he gets.
Already made a deal with original NL pressing of Born Again and now he got a mint (or near mint) Machine Head...
I fear I'll be spending a lot of money soon...
I’m a sucker for coloured vinyl
Got my official Metallica vinyl club year 2 haul in during the week. Sadly it looks like the vinyl club will be put on hold for year 3 or worse completely scrapped due to pressing plants lagging far behind vinyl demand.
@Charger as much as you don’t really associate skulls with Dio, I like the skull side of that picture disc much better.
I can proudly say Vyn I haven't heard any of them!
That soundtrack is pretty cool. Colored vinyl, and the sleeve is very well done. It also comes with an eight page booklet of piano sheet music for what it calls "the main theme". I haven't listened to it yet.
Been looking at this one:

Beautiful Tyr. Is that an original Motörhead on Chiswick? I see you also have the leather sleeve edition of No Remorse
So awesome to have you back. We were all so worried about you. Hope all is well in your life.
You've made my day/week/month :pub:
That is a solid haul of Motorhead records
Good to see you Tyr!!
Very cool. Original Chiswick pressings in great condition go for quite a lot these days and are only increasing in value. I unfortunately don’t own an original. I have a 1980 reissue on clear vinyl. It’s kinda cool, it’s a glossy cover with a red hype sticker printed on it and an inner sleeve with a heap of photos.Beautiful Tyr. Is that an original Motörhead on Chiswick? You' re right Jack !
From left to right , up and down:
- Motörhead - "Motörhead" original Chiswick edition (not the french one with gatefold cover) and the "little sign" on the center spike !
- Motörhead - "No Remorse" , original leather sleeve edition. Note that the drawing of the War Pig from No Remorse is almost the negative of the first one of the first album cover.
- Motörhead - "No remorse" , original cardboard sleeve
- Motörhead - "Killed by Death" EP 12" with 2 tracks with the same title "Under The Knife" on B side, released in August '84.
- Motörhead - "No Remorse" , first 1988 CD edition with leather sleeve.
I love this Joe Petagno's masterpiece , so iconic
bravo for your massive turntable ! My God what a mighty one :pub:
What the heck. 39 years today

another one with my collection of original EPs 7' and 12' of Motörhead :Nice bunch there. There are certain bands that just the cover art alone on their singles make them worth owning. Motörhead is one of those bands.

Congrats Tyr, but surely you get Slip of the Tongue to tie up the 80’s?
I have it on vinyl since it was released. Hadn’t yet switched fully to cds back then. Yeah the album was kind of a disappointment at the time following up from 1987. Steve Vai never seemed the right fit but giving the album another chance years later it was much better than I remembered. It’s actually a pretty solid rocking consistent album. Judgement Day and Wings of the Storm are absolute bangers.Congrats Tyr, but surely you get Slip of the Tongue to tie up the 80’s?
I have it since its release in 1989 .... on CD!
But the album disappointed me so much that I never wanted to buy it back on vinyl.
I have Restless Heart, Coverdale/Page , the awesome Coverdale solo album Into The Light, Good to Be Bad and Forevermore on CD too .
We’ll wait and see what happens.
It looks quite nice on the wall yes. :)
Someone should pay ME 450€ for accepting something with $haron's signature on it!
I chose to donate my vinyl to a young couple that had lots of room and needed albums to fill those shelves. Glad I did and that I know it's in a good place.
Well good luck with the sales.
I know I have one album that (atleast before the boxset came out) went for premium money on Ebay...the original pressing of Headless Cross, but I will never sell it...same goes for the Live At Hammersmith which also seems to go for quite a lot more than what I paid for it...but that will never go on the market either.
My collection however is a drop in the pacific compared to yours!
My wife rolled her eyes when I told her, she knows what that might mean lol.
Internet casinos. We have no "real" casinos in Finland.
^^^^^^Agree on direct wired stuff.
The specs look decent enough. I wouldn't bother with the wireless version. Direct wire connections are superior IMO.

Surely you've heard Mr Roboto! :)
Had to look that up on youtube...nope never heard it before...not that I remember anyways...horrid tune! :D
