That's a fine haul from the record show! What label is Rocka-Rolla on?

Gull records , of course !  ;) :wootwoot:

Little bit of house keeping. Completed the GZR/Geezer Butler vinyl collection about a month back and also added the deluxe edition of “No sleep ‘til Hammersmith”

P.S. Does anyone know how to edit the size of the photos down in photobucket? The method I use to use doesn’t seem to work anymore so I’m stuck with these ridiculously large images

I don't know anything about photobucket, but on this forum when you post an image, you can do this:

Code: [Select]

So, just add the width attribute in there. Try different numbers to get the size you like.

BTW, great additions to your collection Jack!

Thanks Vyn I’ll figure that out and see if it works for me.

@Tyr, it’s a nice set, same as the previous deluxe book style sets they’ve been putting out but I don’t for the life of me understand why they didn’t do a big deluxe style box set for this this like they did the “79” and “Ace of Spades” boxsets. Annoying!

Btw I only just seen your haul on the previous page. Very nice, especially the “Power of the Hunter”album and always great to have an original Gull pressing of “Rocka Rolla”

Is that the French band Trust you scored? Nicko McBrains band prior to joining Maiden.

Exactly.
Nicko joined the band for the recording of the next album and a drummer switch would be made in December 1982 after "The Number of The Beast" tour. McBrain replaces Burr and Burr arrived in Trust to record their 4th album.
I was shocked when I saw the first photos of the band in the studio with Clive Burr. Incredible ! I didn't understand how Clive had made such a bad choice. I learned much later the real reasons for his being ousted from Maiden. and what had to happen happened, Burr only made one album and McBrain is still well in place.
Back to Repression: it's clearly their best album, more than 800,000 albums sold, which was a sensation in France for a band of this style in 1980. But the limit of their success lies in the fact that the vocals are in French therefore incomprehensible and untranslatable in English despite Bon Scott's help to translate the lyrics of the English version of the album. Lyrics are too politicized and describe a very subjective view of the French politico-social situation of the moment, just before the 1981 elections which were to overthrow the country for the next 40 years. In addition, Bernie speaks very poor English.

That’s right. I’d forgotten Clive joined Trust. Strange choice indeed. Talk about going from chocolate to boiled lollies. From memory Trust toured with Maiden on the Killers tour and that’s how they were introduced to Nicko. Vice versa that’s how Clive and Trust met.

Loved Clive Burr as a drummer. Such a shame the way his life played out after his exit from Maiden.

HAHA, I forgot I had this one. /facepalm

Imagine how stoked I was when I pulled it out of an old box I had sitting in the basement for the past 25 years.

Another gem to have in your Sabbath collection. Very impressed and envious Vyn.

So are you saying that you can upload images direct from your device? If so, what is the icon you click on to adjust the size of the picture?

It's on the attachments and other options bar on the bottom of the "reply" window.

There might not be a whole lot of room on the server for this pics though and eventually they might start to slow things down if there's too much of them. So if possible it might be better to use an outside source but I am sure few pics wouldn't matter too much at all.

Jack, did you try Paint program to reduce image size with right click and click "open with"? If you have "paint" in the choice offered, you open the image with and there's a cell at the top left where you can reduce the image as you wish by indicating the desired proportion. You save your changes and it's done. very easy to use.
