Do you mean use paint to reduce the size of the photo before uploading it to photobucket?

I post from my iPad so paint is not an option. Can’t remember the last time I used my pc to log in here, it’s been that long.

PC is quite a bit easier to use anyways...

But if you don't have that option need to look for a similar app then for the ipad.

Or try flickr...there you can choose the size of the picture you want to link.

But why did that test post turn out the way it did? Posted twice with txt and poor quality despite choosing the smallest size?

Okay so the text bit comes automatically I see...

But it did not double post though...so that might have been something in your end.

The text bit is a download link where you can then download the pic if you want.

Ok, but when you said if you can find a picture small enough didn’t you just choose the smallest option on the attachment link at the bottom? I think the next size up is too big to upload to here.

Hah! I'm not getting that option at all... I can only attach a picture and then it'll say if it's too big and need to choose another pic...so there seems to be some differences in the pc and the mobile versions...

The max size for the single pic is 128kb.

Yep seems the case. This is what options it gives me when I click on actual size.

Interesting indeed...

Pretty bad options though...considering the picture I attached was 93kb and 960x717 in size...

Yeah that last picture was terrible quality. Also, the image doesn’t show in the post if you’re not logged in. So non members can’t view the images, which I quite like.

Yeah that's a cool privacy feature.

But if you take the time to resize the pics before posting that'll eliminate the problem...

While in lockdown I’ve been replacing a lot of my vinyls from the old pvc sleeves to polyethylene sleeves. Have been hearing for a few years that the old pvc sleeves can ruin your vinyl so have slowly been replacing them the last few years. Wasn’t until a few weeks ago though that I decided to take it a little more seriously when speaking with a record store owner that had recently forked out $3000 for a deceased estate record collection. He discovered that they were all in the old pvc sleeves and quite a few of them are ruined.

It’s like a chemical reaction with the pvc and the vinyl which leaves a misty foggy layer on the vinyl which effects play with a hissing sound. After hearing a first hand account I decided to pick up 120 new sleeves the other day and started replacing them in bulk. So far I have found 3 only that have been effected which is a relief but I still have many hundreds to do. The 3 effected were “Defenders of the Faith” which I have another copy anyway, Metallica’s “Garage Days ReRevisted The $5.98 ep” which I have another 5 copies of and “The Eternal Idol” which is my one and only copy :(

Also I assume the many of the old picture discs I have that were sold in pvc sleeves back in the day have been effected as well but you can’t see the fogginess through the picture.

Thanks for that helpful information Jack, but I want to make sure I understand this: Is this the protective sleeve that the vinyl cover slips into? which means that there is a chemical reaction which will pass through the cardboard and the paper?
As a precaution, I just removed 3, including my original copy of Hell Awaits and Apocalyptic Raids from Hellhammer.
However, I also ask myself this question: are these plastic sleeves really useful for die-hard fans like us who take extreme care in our handling of these precious items? When I look at my original copy of Don't Break The Oath, it looks like it's straight out of the store, not near mint, just mint.
