I was never a "hard core" fan of the Star Wars films, but I enjoy them well enough. Rogue One is one of the 3 best films in the franchise.

I felt Force Awakens -- while very watchable -- just riffed too much on the first film. The Last Jedi is probably the best of the Disney trilogy and The Rise of Skywalker was fine if nothing special.

I am influnced by what I have seen on youtube and other social media, and I have heard horrible things said about Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. I do own them though so eventually I will find out for myself just what all the negative fuss is about.

This the best of the Disney Star Wars movies that I have seen. It is true I have not seen Last Jedi or Rise Of Skywalker but those movies are considered horrible by many a Star Wars fans. 7.5/10

Sad to hear that since that is the worst thing that has ever been released under the Star Wars banner...absolutely horrible movie. The digital Peter Cushing was an atrocity and the lack of humor was totally unacceptable.
It looked like star wars and it sounded like star wars but most importantly though it certainly did NOT feel like Star Wars.

I can remember more stuff from Valerian than from Rogue One... I think that alone says a lot about where Star Wars is these days.

I've watched the first two films of the final trilogy in passing, largely because someone else was watching it on the TV or it was an in-flight movie and I didn't care if I fell asleep during the movie. I did watch them all the way through, but came away cold. Too much of the same old story.

I did not watch the final film. My wife and kids did. My wife thought it was OK enough, my kids wanted their time and money back for the deus ex machina ending. Basically, the whole Skywalker saga is a shaggy dog story with that last film. The last trilogy itself failed to deliver what could have been a modern answer to Frank Herbert's aftermath of Dune, with heroes getting dirty faces and tilted halos. Alternatively, it could have been something to get at the heart of the dichotomy of The Force itself instead of a cardboard rehash of the original trilogy.

Sure this Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin apparition isn't the most successful graphically but we still notice great progress on these digital personifications. Ditto for Princess Leia in the final scene.
In another hand, the 2 sequences with Vader are very successful. The first, in his castle on Mustafar, is devilishly well done.
The weak point ? undeniably Diego Luna, interpreting a very very weak rebel.
Dear Charg', I have to say I'm not a big fan of humor in this kind of movie, so it works for me !  8) :beerbang:

This was a disappointment and was not scary at all. Basically a C grade movie that goes nowhere. 3.5/10

Rogue One was good, definitely the best of the Disney Star Wars movies. Even Solo was better than those underwhelming horribly written recent sequels.  And who wants or needs humour in Star Wars anyway? The only decent humour in Star Wars was alway between Solo and Chewbacca. Every other attempt at humour was always lame.

Four horror stories revolving around a mysterious rental house in the U.K.  One of my favorite Amicus films.  The 4 short stories give you a little bit of everything. 8.5/10

Upon returning to his home village to continue his experimental research, Dr. Frankenstein discovers and revives his old creature, but a hypnotist wants the monster to control for himself.  This was Hammer's third offering in the Frankenstein saga.  The detailed sets are excellent, typical of Hammer. 8.5/10

This was great and full of jump scares. It proves that you do not need excessive gore or shock to make a scary movie.
I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it. 8/10

In Hammer's 6th Dracula offering (Lee's 5th in the role), a young man on a trip spends the night at Count Dracula's castle and goes missing.  Then the young man's brother comes to the small town, where all the traces end, to look for him. 7/10

Very similar plot to Rio Bravo, but in this one, James Caan's character brings a knife to a gunfight. :D

Wild West action and fun, much of it shot in the Old Tucson lot, as West Texas would have been too remote for a location shoot back then. As in not close enough to LA. :)

Fishburne, Carrell, and Cranston are powerhouses in this very emotional film about mourning, regrets, last letters, and forgiving others and ourselves. There are some rough moments in the script, but these three actors overcome those. And when the script is strong, these three are up to the task. It's not a war movie, but it is definitely a soldiers' movie, a veterans' movie.

Aristocrat Julian Markham keeps his disfigured brother, Sir Edward, locked in a tower of his house.  Sir Edward occasionally escapes and causes havoc around the town.  A fine tale from E. A. Poe.  Price is excellent as usual. 8/10

Last night this movie was broadcasted on tv, so I choose it obviously. And this morning, I hear the sad news. One of the last giants has just left us . RIP Sean.

Had not seen this one since I was a kid, much better movie than I thought it would be. Totally ridiculous in some instances but that is part of the fun. 7.5/10
