The head of a major cosmetics company experiments on herself with a youth formula made from royal jelly extracted from wasps, but the formula's side effects have deadly consequences.  A pretty cheapo film with little to no fx.  The above poster is nothing like what is seen in the film.  Totally misleading. 2/10

How bad are the fx? Are we talking cheap Halloween costume stuff?

I looked at the eyes and nose... I'm thinking the base for that "prosthetic" was this:

with the nose off of one of these:

Now back to proper horror from Hammer.

In the early twentieth century, a Gorgon takes human form and terrorizes a small European village by turning its citizens to stone.  7.5/10

All this talk of Hammer films made me imagine Christopher Lee instead of Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, with the script re-done to have a horror angle... where *does* Mary Poppins get her powers, anyway? Is Bert the Chimney-sweep an avatar for Great God Pan?

"Let's go... fly... a KITE!" takes on a whole new meaning if Christopher Lee says it!

One of my most loved movie. Just a great performance by the cast and the effects look better than some of the CGI out now.
I always watch this movie at this time of year. 9/10

Nowhere near the impact and greatness of the original this movie is still very watchable today. Never liked the statue of liberty parts and this has not aged well. 7/10

Another of my favorite movie, this gets watched around this time and it is just having its anniversary and this inspired me to re watch it for the thousandth time    9/10

The only one of the sequel movies that I have watched. Sub par story but glorious fx and well directed, this sttill does not feel like a proper Star Wars movie IMHO. 6/10

This was an entertaining tale and it has some great actors in it. Bill Murray and Adam Driver are the shining stars of this whacky tale. 7.5/10

Saturday Night Sci-Fi

When a plane carrying a pair of top secret military robots crashes on a deserted Pacific island, a team of Navy seals must find them and turn them off as soon as possible for the longer they are activated, the smarter they become.  90% of this film is chase and shoot, chase and shoot, chase and shoot.  After 50% of that, I had had enough. 4/10

A collector comes into possession of the skull of the Marquis de Sade and learns it is possessed by an evil spirit.  A dark feel throughout this film, from Hammer's competitor Amicus, makes for nice late night viewing.  7.5/10

This the best of the Disney Star Wars movies that I have seen. It is true I have not seen Last Jedi or Rise Of Skywalker but those movies are considered horrible by many a Star Wars fans. 7.5/10

I was never a "hard core" fan of the Star Wars films, but I enjoy them well enough. Rogue One is one of the 3 best films in the franchise.

I felt Force Awakens -- while very watchable -- just riffed too much on the first film. The Last Jedi is probably the best of the Disney trilogy and The Rise of Skywalker was fine if nothing special.
