Having a common currency helps to form the economic interlocking that makes a nation, but it is the common language and transportation networks that really allow for Americans to enjoy an ease of mobility not found in Europe. This means not only can I easily travel to just about any part of my nation, but I can also settle and integrate there. It's not unthinkable to consider moving across the country to pursue economic activities - and such thoughts don't involve looking up visa restrictions or learning another language.

The lack of true cross-regional transportation networks and linguistic differences are the two greatest challenges in front of the EU.

We actually had a bit of rain just now. It suddenly just poured down, literally a shower. For maybe the whole of two minutes, at the max. The ground wasn't even wet afterwards, despite the amount.

The temp.'ve dropped down to 19-20 C too, though, so now it's actually perfect nice weather.

Well today was a cold rainy day with a high of 56oF (13oC). :(  For those not from here, there is a saying about the New England weather:  "If you are hoping for a change in the weather, then wait a minute."  :squint:

Hopefully ya'll will have some nicer weather than the foreshadowing indicates!

After spending a week in Laredo, TX I have determined that there is no reasonable explanation for anyone wanting to be there unless they have to. That place was an OVEN. Best part was driving by a billboard advertising a hot tub business.

Nothing makes me want to get in a hot tub more than working my ass off in 110 degree F weather all day. Bleh.
