29 C today. That's gotta be a record for May so far up in the mountains. Oslo and Bergen, the two biggest cities in Norway are competing over the nation record, so far 31,2 and still going...

Given the trend the last years it'll be a damn rain heavy June around here. Did someone mention a noticable change in weather patterns all over the world..?

Is that 29^oC with low or high humidity.  Where I am the humidity increases in the summertime for the most part.  On the days that the humidity is low that temp is very comfortable.  But when the humidity is high (>70%) it is considered oppressive.

Superdry here too. Actually a record of the hazard of forest fires for May too. But that's just because the humidity is just waiting to boil over, so to speak...

Well yes and no....because it hasn't rained in over 3 weeks now eveyrthing is so damn dry...I can't even mow the lawn in fear of sparks...granted it doesn't grow much either!

Same here then than in Norway...forest fire hazard index is higher than ever before...I've got some forest just next to my house and goddamn it's dry...one spark and that would go up...well...in flames.

Really? Scandinavia as a whole (including Finland) is quite a bit smaller than the US....

Okay!  I don't know what this latest putdown is about, but yes, I do live in a big country.  Here in Massachusetts I am about 300 miles east of New York, and 3000 miles from California.  There are probably 2 or 3 states in the U.S. that are bigger than Norway or Finland.  It is huge.

Hell yes. I'm in Texas, which is still part of the USA, far as I can tell. Trust me, we're one nation, from Honolulu to Hialeah, from Nome to New York City. There's plenty of cultural variation in our regions, but we're one country, and it doesn't take a hurricane to find that out.
