We're about to have a massive cold snap hit the USA. It will go around Texas but smash into Georgia and Northern Florida - below freezing temps for pretty much the whole eastern USA.

And it's dripping snow again...it's been dripping snow for 5 days straight now...not a lot but just enough so that I have to plough everything every day....major annoyance.

And it's getting colder and colder again...some forecasts even say that it might crack -20C (-4F) next week...which would be insane! Stupid winter.

Just cold weather here. It's above freezing around the clock, but still darn chilly for Texas!

Bought a boreal shirt the other day - looking forward to getting that thing. Hasn't been too cold lately, but here in a couple of weeks things are supposed to get frozen for a good long while. That shirt will help keep me alive, I hope it gets here soon!

We're looking at the coldest beginning of January in over 20 years!

In Lapland temps will go down to -45C (49F!! F's are higher(or lower if you will) than C's!) and down here we're looking at -30C (-22F) potentially.

So the record breaking cold winter just keeps on giving. Climate change my ass! We're going to freeze to death before global warming ever even reaches here!

Nope, that *is* climate change due to overall global warming. Massive swings in climate, including cold temps more intense than ever before. The Gulf Stream shutting down can be a consequence of overall global warming, which can trigger an ice age within a matter of years, according to data recovered from core samples and tree rings.

The way it works is the massive ice melt off of Greenland is water that's at just above 0 degrees, so it is hitting the north end of the warm Gulf Stream and punching it down. Without warm waters in the upper Atlantic, there's no bulwark against Arctic air flows, so places once kept warm by the Gulf Stream start to do their Siberia impersonations.

Here in Texas, we've seen massive rainfalls in Spring washouts, cold starts to summers, and then suddenly it's multiple days over 100F and we're in a severe drought. Rainfall totals increasing *and* more severe drought are more manifestations of massive swings in climate due to overall warming. Our harsher-than-usual ice storms that shut down the grid are also products of global warming.

Well all I know is things around here aren't getting any warmer...quite the opposite. -19C (-2F) right now. So the fact remains somewhere it gets warm and over here it gets cold...so no matter what I'm always fucked. But I'd much rather be warm and fucked than freezing to death and fucked.
