Got to travel today for 8 hours in the snow and sleet, lots of gate and terminal changes at DFW airport along with 10K+ travelers whose flights had been canceled yesterday working through the system.

Wil be travelling to Laredo for a few days starting Feb. 9th, then off to Manzanilla, MX for two days, then Mexico City for two more before heading back. Hoping the weather straightens out before then. The DFW airport, while actually not a bad one as far as airports go, always seems to have my connecting flights on the far end so I have to ride that tram all over. And usually with only four seconds to get to the gate.

Terminals A and C are the main American Airlines terminals, they're next to each other. E is on the far end and handles all the other US-based carriers like Delta and Southwest. On the other side of the main road are terminals B and D. B services the smaller markets with "American Eagle" AA flights and D is the international terminal with all the non-US based carriers out of there. So if you flew in on a Delta to E or regular AA to A or C and had to hustle to the opposite corner at B to get on a Laredo flight, I can see the potential mess, especially if there was any sort of delay with the inbound flight.

I always fly direct whenever possible and tell accounting to take a hike when they ask for a reason why I turned down a cheaper flight that connected via LaGuardia.

MEANWHILE...

I'm watching a snow plow work on a parking lot out of my hotel window as I work remotely today. Company meetings in the office will resume tomorrow and Thursday.

Freaking chilly this morning, and although there is no snow, there are wrecks all over the place. Not sure wtf that's about, must be cold-induced delirium lol

I dislike going to our Laredo office precisely because there are no direct flights from KC to that overblown truck stop of a town.

But they do have some fantastic restaurants!

-20C (-5F) again...this starts to get to me already...not doing good for my psyche...

6 Inches of snow last night with some wind! We've got drifts! But luckily the temp's gone up! And next week it should be above freezing again! One can only dream!

That reminds of an on-air blooper from a few years back. No snow had arrived overnight as forecast and the attractive female newsreader turns to the weather man and says "So, where was that 8 inches you promised me last night?" apparently they had to cut to an ad-break until the studio staff managed to compose themselves!

Gonna get snow tomorrow for my travel back home. Fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun.

Hellacious blizzard right now...temp is just a bit above zero so it's mostly sleet but with high winds it's getting into every crack. Debris everywhere and the occational power outages.

Was gonna go to get groceries but no way am I going out there! So I'll be on a rather lean diet today!

Got home out of the snow and ice in DC to the clear and cold in Dallas. Things have warmed up in Dallas to where we have cold rain the next three days, but no ice.

Finally Winter is starting to give in and we're getting some rain...sadly the down side of it is that everything is slippy as shit! Ice everywhere and it doesn't melt as the ground is so cold after such a long and brutally cold winter!

Next week, we almost get to 90F... 31 C at the end of February! We may have a very short spring and a long, hot summer here in Texas.

We're currently rockin' 65-70 F, high seventies about the same time as Z is going to be hitting 90.

Strong winds from the NE started up a couple of hours ago. They blew the 73 degree, sunny, awesome weather right the hell out and now we're sporting a solid 59 degrees and clouds. Forecast says down to 18 by morning, maybe two inches of snow, high of 35.

Then Thursday, back up to 75.

It's February, and I live in Missouri.
