What was the last Movie you saw... Part III

We saw The Addams Family recently. The new animation about the popular characters made famous on TV in the 1060s. It has a good voice cast in Charlize Theron, Oscar Isaac, Chloe Grace Moretz and Finn Wolfhard (who seems to be in everything at the moment!) as the main family members with support from the likes of Bette Midler, Alison Janey, Nick Kroll and Snoop Dog as "It" but frankly the mumbling could have been anyone!

The main story revolves around the family moving to a new area and attracting the attention of a local developer. There are side stories about Wednesday going to school with a girl she befriends and Pugsley preparing for a coming of age celebration. Generally the story was a lot better than I thought it would be, it was quite funny in places and didn't ignore the adult audience. The animation style did grate a little in that characters like Morticia and Wednesday are really narrow and I kept thinking the aspect ratio of the projection was wrong, but other characters were fine!

Overall I'll give it 7/10

Watched "The Laundromat" on Netflix. If you love either Meryl Streep or Economics, this one's for you. I love both, so I had a great time with it.

Is this good or bad? - it just seems to go on and on with no real direction. Confusing and disjointed this still was not as bad as I was expecting. 5.5/10

It had dreadful reviews before release, and when I saw it I decided that it wasn't "that" bad, but still not good. Your 5.5 is about right.

We saw Seven Psychopaths on rental this weekend. Written and direct by Martin McDonagh who also wrote and directed In Bruges and Three Billboards Outside, Ebbing Missouri. This film stars Colin Farrell as a screen writer trying to write a film he's calling Seven Psychopaths alongside his friends played by the crazy Sam Rockwell and withdrawn Christopher Walken. The film is violent and comedic and surprising in equal measures.

When the beloved dog of the psychotic Woody Harrelson gets kidnapped by Rockwell, Harrelson wants revenge, Rockwell wants an old-fashioned shootout in the desert.

The story is a little patchy but the performances are good. But ultimately the film is the least of McDonagh's three films. 7/10

I liked it a little more than you guys.  Did not find it disjointed.

I usually have little interest in these DC Comics films, but was curious about this one.  Although I am not all that excited about computer graphics, I did enjoy this story. 7/10

A woman with a seemingly perfect married life can't seem to stop her destructive behavior.  Fine performance by Sarah Silverman. 7.5/10

A comedic look at the relationship between a wealthy man with quadriplegia and an unemployed man with a criminal record who's hired to help him. 6.5/10

We watched Late Night on rental, about a chat show host (Emma Thompson) who gets told that she's being replaced due to falling ratings. She has a reputation of hating women and in order to boost ratings she hire's a new female writer (Mindy Kaling). Meanwhile her husband (John Lithgow) is suffering from a degenerative disease and is becoming a recluse.

It's a mildly amusing film with good central performances that are way better than the annonymous supporting cast. The story was a bit predicatble. 6/10
