A young soldier seeks to put an end to the evils caused by a vicious witch-hunter when the latter terrorizes his fiancée and kills her uncle.  Not for the squeamish. 8/10

You should check out Cathedral more bud, I think there might be a song or two you'd enjoy as they are heavily influenced by early Sabbath.

Big fun and stupid story makes this movie a special effects riddled big summertime blockbuster worth seeing. Ignoring most recent advances in the study of Dinosaurs, this was still a great science fiction flick. 8/10

The attempted assassination of the American President is told and re-told from several different perspectives.  Interesting presentation which helps the story come together. 7.5/10

Aging baseball star who goes by the nickname, Mr. 3000, finds out many years after retirement that he is actually 2 hits shy of 3,000.  Now at age 47 he's back to try and reach that goal. 6.5/10

THE MEG

A deep sea dive mission to the Marianas Trench goes horribly wrong when something attacks the submarine crew and a daring rescue mission with an expert Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is executed but while doing so a prehistoric monster shark called the Megalodon is lured to the surface and starts attacking.

The cast is good eventhough Statham is maybe bit out of his element as he is more of a traditional action hero. Cliff Curtis, Page Kennedy, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao and the sensationally beautiful Bingbing Li all do good job as scientists working on a marine science station run and financed by a billionaire played by Rainn Wilson. Ofcourse the real star is the Meg which for most part is done pretty well, however there are couple of instances where the effects fail a bit.

The movie isn't quite big enough for it's topic and at the same time it also takes itself maybe bit too seriously...and by doing so it is also hindered by the PG-13 rating. It's almost like the producers couldn't quite decide whether to make this a serious horror style movie or a lighter toned disaster comedy. And as such it now falls bit short on both departments.

Bit more brutality would have been in order to make it a proper R-rated movie or it could have benefitted from an even lighter more Sharknado type parody touch with more humor and more outragious stunts and saves and action.
Also the ending was bit underwhelming.

The movie idea was great the execution bit poor.

This was a very good B movie with strong performances by most of the cast and a compelling delivery from Scott Eastwood.

The son of a Baptist preacher is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion program after being forcibly outed to his parents.  Good performances. 7.5/10

We saw the new Aardman animation yesterday The Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon. It's a stop-motion animation starring the titular sheep first seen in the Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave. In this film an alien space craft crash lands near Mossy Bottom Farm, and the young alien Lu-La needs help from Shaun and friends to escape the authorities so he can try to go home.

Essentially a silent movie -- with noises rather than dialogue -- the comedy is largely slapstick in nature but there are some more subtle moments. Also sci-fi cultural refences abound include Close Encounters, X-Files and ET. I enjoyed it, but then it's Aardman and they rarely let you down (Early Man aside!). 7.5/10

Despite few boring moments, the film remains interesting'til the end.

A very professional big budget disaster movie, with some genuinely great acting done by a majority of the cast. What a terrible story it retells and it does so with style and conviction. 8/10
