That is pretty damn cool outfit! Is that a real sword too?

Sword is real.  Here is a better view of it.  I'm talking with one of the musketeers on duty.  On the far left you can see His Majesty The King.

That is just so cool. And having some of the story behind the outfit adds to the coolness, thanks for sharing. Now I'm wondering what would be other great swashbuckling movies to add to the Three/Four Musketeers - Depardieu's version of Cyrano de Bergerac is one I would passionately advocate.

I'm curious Typhon, is the full beard set something you had, or was it grown (or stuck on ;) ) especially for the show?

I don't know how authentic all that clothing is, but it does look great!

I'm concerned about the woman in the yellow/orange hat, far too close to the pointy end of the sword!

Ha ha, the beard is natural.  Only takes me a couple of weeks growth, and then I trim accordingly.

The sword is in a scabbard.  One of the rules at this fair is you can't walk around with an exposed blade.  All swords and daggers must be sheathed.

:drama:  I own this one, highly recommended.  Released in 1952, they siege a castle in this movie.  An incredible scene.

A couple of films to catch up on...

Free Guy is an action/comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Taika Waititi and Joe Keery (the older kid from Stranger Things).

Reynolds plays Guy a minor character in a violent video game who decides he wants more after seeing Millie (Comer) a player in the game, she is in the game trying to finds evidence that the games AI is stolen from her and boyfriend - Keys (Keery) - by maniacal computer visionary Antwan (Waititi). Evidence is found Antwan has a new game going online and he wants to close the old game down. The plot revolves around finding the evidence and stopping the old game being shut down!

It is fun, the plot is all over the place, but that doesn't matter because it's fun and the chemistry between Reynolds and Comer is believable. I can't help thinking that if Antwan was real he would have been locked up years ago!! 7/10

===============

The War with Grandpa is a family comedy starring Robert DeNiro, Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Oakes Fegley with support from Christopher Walken and Jane Seymour (looking great for 70!).

Ed (DeNiro) is recently widowed and struggling to live on his own. His daughter (Thurman) suggests he lives with her and her family, but it means grandson Peter (Fegley) is moved into teh attic which has seen better days. Peter blames grandpa and starts taking revenge on grandpa who has some tricks of his own.

It's a fairly run-of-the-mill family film, it has some funny moments, but there's nothing to set this out from the crowd. The main problem is the whole premise is stupid! 5/10

I'll third that one. A very good movie. Granted could have had bit more gore plus I wish Gyllenhaal's and Reynold's characters would have switched places.

... I wish Gyllenhaal's and Reynold's characters would have switched places.

My understanding is that Reynolds had other filming commitments which is why his character dies quite early in the film, they may even have swapped his and Gyllenhaal's roles to allow him to complete his scenes before leaving the shoot.

I did enjoy the film but felt it lacked a little something to raise it above its contempories.

EDIT: The first peice of trivia on IMDb: It was intended to have Ryan Reynolds play the main character. However, scheduling conflicts with The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) forced him to take a supporting role instead.

Ah yes... I do wish it would have been that way. Never liked Gyllenhaal but always liked Reynolds.

Hitman's Bodyguard was rather excellent as well...

Love this movie from 1979, Dennis Christopher is a fine young actor and Dennis Quaid is at the start of his career, but it's Paul Dooley that steals every scene he's in as the dad who's worried about his son turning Italian. :)

Great father-son movie with a high school gang going its separate ways angle added in. There's heroism in it, but it's very quiet heroism, and I love it.

This was so bad that I turned it off half way through!! I never thought I would say that about a Star Wars film.
Absolute garbage!! 2/10
