I promised I would never ever buy a phone that costs more than 300€ and today I went and preordered the new Motorola Razr 2022!

So so much for that promise!

GO PHONEZ!!!

My work laptop is having hardware problems. The microphone wasn't working, so I rebooted it. Got a blue screen, but when it came out, the microphone was working. Yay.

And now it won't recognize my large monitor connected to it. Monitor words just fine with the same cable when I connect it to my other PC, so the fault is the work laptop. Boo.

Well the Razr arrived today!

It is pretty darn cool and most importantly it is awesome to have a phone that fits in your shirts chest pocket again! Haven't had that in like 10 years!

Not sure it was worth 1149€ though but still....

I got a Samsung Fold phone, it had to move out of my shirt pocket. It's heavy, but I really enjoy the larger screen for reading.

Yeah this is pretty heavy too...about 200g but it's so nice and small so the bit larger weight doesn't bother me that much.

Well as it seems that the last post were about my phone I might as well tell what happened today then...

I lost some money on an internet casino and got bit annoyed and stood up and angrily picked up the phone...or so I thought...but my fingers didn't fully comply to my order and they sent the phone flying in the air...well me putting a lot of faith in my reflexes I tried to catch the phone mid flight...well...I failed miserably at that too and sent the phone flying even faster...but instead of it flying towards the ground it took an unexpected turn and hit face first to my night stand...and by face first I mean the outer screen first...result. Crack in the screen and it's fucked...green lines and some blue blood-like substance oozing towards every corner of the screen...


I haven't broken a phone in over 20 years...and ofcourse now I end up breaking the most expensive one I've ever had! Awesome.

Well the phone itself is still operational and the inner screen thank god is 100% but now ofcourse if someone calls or I get a text instead of reading who it's from from the front screen I have to open the phone up...

How bad luck can a person have is the question that comes to mind...I even joked about that I will probably end up breaking this one the day I got it...well I managed to hang on almost 4 months!

Dam! You have a nice $700€ win then break your relatively new phone soon after. It’s always the way though. You think you’re in front for a change then something breaks or breakdowns or you get a traffic fine etc and it cancels out the win.

Yeah!

I feel that's the way it always goes for me...I get a little ounce of good luck and it's always followed by a streak of bad...always. Universe wants to keep me on the negative...always.

Is it repairable?

I do not know yet...

The problem is the phone is so new and somewhat rare that spare screens might not be available yet...I did send out an inquiry to a phone repair company and they said they'd come back to me when they find out...but most likely not so I'm down to one screen with this.

Man, that bites.

I got a bonus last year that wound up paying for my medical bills... Nice, sure, but nicer would have been getting something that put me ahead, not breaking even.

Well just got a reply... These newer models are sent to Denmark to the official Motorola repair shop.

Estimated cost of repair 400-700€...

How lovely.

France recently increased the retirement age from 62 to 64. Or I should say Macron raised it. And folks there are a bit upset about it. Strikes, massive organized protests, violent spontaneous protests, arson, hundreds of folks arrested, etc. I hope Tyr66 is faring well!
