I usually set up the new computer while still using the old one. I keep the old one active until I'm sure I don't need it any more.

Yeah I would have done that too had I bought a new case but I did not as I like my old case and had no need for a new one.

Well I'm back using the old one again...as it turns out I can't update my windows anymore....

Might be that my version of 10 that I have on disc is just too old...blue screen always follows when trying to run the updates...

So I guess I have to just suck it up and buy a new one for the lovely price of 144€...

Fuck you microsoft....

I can use the windows just fine but I can't install any new drivers so I can't get the graphics card to work or anything...Windows can be a real dick sometimes when it comes to installing new hardware with a used windows disc...

I've got the old pc running without a case here now....ugh. This is getting to my nerves now...I think I need a drink...or 20...

One suggestion would be to boot up and re-run hardware detection, there's a chance it just doesn't know what you have running on the new box.

I downloaded the USB installer from microsoft and made a usb install drive using my old computer...it still had some errors but it did manage to go through...and seems to be working now..

What is exceptionally annoying is that it now requires a password on every windows start up! That's driving me nuts! Never had that before and from older versions I found a way to disable it but not anymore...

I am in the process of copying my files and reinstalling softwares but I'm not overly convinced that things are okay...but we shall see.

I have to do a password every time I start up. Gone are the days of just opening up the PC and getting with the business at hand.

There are likely a few more bumps along the way. I just switched phones and had to re-enroll all the multifactor authentication stuff for work.

I'm beginning to think that one of the new components is faulty..

Either the RAM or the motherboard...Ran a memory check and it came out clean so might be the motherboard then...hard to really think of anything else as the problems continue and the blue screen keeps popping up constantly and still can't fully update the windows as the error always comes during the update.

When windows works well it's awesome but when there's a problem it's harder to fix than a broken ac unit in hell.

Not a windows issue after all I think....

Seems that the ne motherboard might be broken... The problems just kept getting worse and worse and now I couldn't even install the windows anymore.

Well out with the new in with the old and things looking good again...

So it seems that I just bought 800€ worth of junk...lovely.

Let this be a lesson to you kids...NEVER update a working computer...it'll only result in pain suffering and chaos.
