It's a good track and, yes, so much less processing on the voice makes me wonder why he got so processed on the Jeff Beck track.

Love the guitar work.

Overall, it felt as if they did an update of "The Wizard" in the studio where they recorded Never Say Die... I like it, but, yeah... buy it? I dunno...

I do like this track a bit more than the first one.  I'm not surprised Iommi does a great job.  Does anybody really think he is suddenly going to forget how to play?  ;D

The vocals are also better.  Ozzy sounds better with less processing, so maybe he would have sounded better with less processing on the first track.

I would have to hear a few more tracks before I make a buy decision.

I really like this song. Got me in from the get-go. Very hooky vocal melody again from Ozzy and its’s great to hearTony’s riffs again. Some cool drum fills and bass work on there as well.

I would’ve left the harmonica off though. Doesn’t really serve a purpose being there. And again disappointed with the production. It sounds even muddier than Patient No 9 and is overdone and sucks some life out of the song. Andrew Watt needs to stay the fuck away from Ozzy.

... which makes me ask the question, who would have been a better producer for this effort?

Anyone but Watt  ;)

The guy is obviously a talent. His quite an accomplished guitar player and writer. His work on the California Breed album with Glenn Hughes is testament to that but his production style is better suited to the Post Malone’s and Justin Biebers of the world.

One thing I’ll say, my big attraction to Ozzy and why I love him so much besides his voice and general craziness is his knack of coming up with such catchy memorable vocal melodies. They get stuck in my head like no other singer and were there in abundance on Ordinary Man and so far on these two new tracks. Watt is obviously bringing the best out in Ozzy in that regard at this late stage of his career.

Well Ozzy is alive and kicking...

He and Tony just performed Paranoid at the closing ceremony of The Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. I missed the beginning so I don't know who was playing the bass or the drums, but I suspect they were hired hands.

Now while Ozzy sounded pretty good I wouldn't rule out the possibility that he was miming to a backing track.

Ozzy's definitely just miming here. You can even see him screw up...

That's a real shame but sort of understandable I guess...

Yes, I've seen it again, he looks like he's lip syncing, as you say it's not a surprise, with his health issues I doubt he had much time to rehearse and you don't want to sound awful on live TV. The miming was helped by the smoke from the fireworks obscuring him for large parts of the the performance! ;)

It was Adam on bass and Tommy on drums.

??? What are these "Commonwealth Games"?

An Olympics style games for nations who are part of the British Commonwealth... known as the Empire Games in the early days. Basically around 55 countries including: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Nigeria. A number of countries in the Caribbean and so on. Before 1776 the US could have taken part! ;)

Ozzy has had his highest chart placing in the UK with his new album Patient No. 9, it entered the chart today at No. 2

That's good for him....and it's not all that surprising as he's been in the public eye quite a bit lately so that ofcourse boosts the album sales a lot.

Part 1 of the making of doco.

It’s sad and heartbreaking seeing Ozzy like this. You can see the Parkinsons is starting to take hold like it did Michael J. Fox, but it’s also uplifting and inspiring to see him still working and making music and wanting to keep performing.
