Ozzy shares the title track of his upcoming album Patient Number 9 featuring Jeff Beck.




Pretty lame almost poppy tune...and Ozzy sounds very processed.

I was expecting something bit more with Jeff Beck to be honest... Gotta hope the songs with Tony and Zakk are better than this.

The album is released on Friday, September 9th.

Long gone are the days where Ozzy sings over a super heavy backing track, but that wasn't as "poppy" as I feared, and the last couple of minutes were quite heavy

I think JB only handles the solo on this track and Zakk is playing the rhythm. I don’t mind it. Still in the vein of Ordinary Man which I liked. Just not a fan of Andrew Watts production style.

Upon my first listen, I'm about middle of the road with the tune.  Not bad, but not something I would call terrific.

OK, gonna spin it and react... what the hell is going on with the vocals? Is that a hologram version of Ozzy singing?

Midtempo tune... or is it a lethargic version of a song that should have been played faster? Lord help me, I'm getting a Britney Spears vibe off of this track AND IT DID NOT WANT THAT.

Beck's solo cranks it up a notch and does the right thing. And then he's gone and it's back to the formulaic and overprocessed delivery. I'm gonna need more than a 45-second guitar solo to sell me on over 7 minutes of tune. OK, there's a second round of guitaring at the end, which is really nice, as I don't have to listen to overprocessed vocals.

So now I want to check out more Jeff Beck and leave the Ozzy on the table.

Well it starts really well...the intro riff from Tony is stellar, but then as the verse starts and the harmonica kicks in the song begins to drag and for some reason Tony's mixed damn low, he still delivers the goods here for sure!

Ozzy sounds maybe bit less processed than on the first track but there is no personality left in his voice anymore...


Tony is what makes this song! Shows that he still has got it...now he just needs to find a singer and get that solo album out!

I like that one a lot better than Patient Number 9. It wouldn't sound out of place on 13.

All things considered, I'm impressed with what Ozzy brought to the table vocally with this track.
And yeah, Tony again shows why he is the riffmaster.

Given the nature of this upcoming release, none of this is enough to make me want to pre-order it though.
