And now starts the very annoying time of early spring...

Days go above freezing and nights are way below freezing. What melts during the day freezes twice as much during the night. Also it's sunny during the days and the sun is low so it's extra annoying.

A small thunder cell just passed here!!!!

I don't recall having a thunder this early ever. 10 or so years ago we did have a thunder in mid april (it was just one or two hits) that broke a lot of electricals around here, I lost a computer, a printer and adsl router.

But this was much more of a summer thunder like...bunch of lightning lots of activity...almost constant rumble. Very cool indeed. And very very very rare.

Got an acquaintance in Czechia that reports a bunch of sand from the Sahara is being dumped on Central Europe right now.

Meanwhile, in the Southern USA, we're getting our yellow blanket of pollen right about now.

Was 90% here, so not the funky twilight of a full eclipse, but enough to make everyone notice how much the temperature dropped simply from having those rays blocked for a handful of minutes. And then how fast it warmed back up.

People in ancient times worshiped the sun for damn good practical reasons!
