Seen some of the pictures/video from NYC. All of that Canadian smoke gives everything in NYC an eerie appearance. I imagine lake Erie is looking extra eerie, too. Doesn't Tommy Chong live in Canada now?

Now I can't look at the map of Canadian fires without imagining them as concentrations of potheads... the fact that there's a ton of fire icons over BC doesn't help me break that imagining...

It's been sunny and dry for much of the last 15-20 days, but it's not been so warm - low to mid 20s. Today that all changed --high 20s -- and the weekend will be worse, 30C is very likely. The reason is that the last few weeks the breeze has been northerly... now it's coming in from continental Europe!

Pretty nice weather this week... temps around 70F and sunny....nights have been super cold still though...with around 35F...

Next week it's gonna change though as it'll go over 80F maybe even 85F.

We almost clocked 30C today... But I still managed to put on few more slabs down for my garden path...It's coming along nicely.

No sign of rain...things are starting to be really really really REALLY dry...need to water plants every day now.

First it was too cold now it's too hot...and because of the insane electricity prices using an air con is out of the question so sleep soon becomes a thing I cannot have...25C (77F) inside now...when it gets above 26C it's virtually impossible to sleep anymore...But I'll sleep when I'm dead...

Highs today should hit 35C, with over 90% humidity.

Texas is where electricity prices do not matter, we will have the AC.

I'm doing a move called "supercooling". Basically, run the AC to take temps down to 70F/21C at night. Then, during the day, don't have the AC kick on unless it gets over 75F/24C. Most days, it's sweltering outside and the AC isn't on until just before sundown. Saves a lot on electricity, overall.
