July has not been too nice in the UK, some areas have had record rain. Today wet and windy again and no sign of summer arriving any time soon.

Most of the USA found out what a Texas July is like. Those of us in Texas had a hot one, all right.

the director of our Laredo, Texas office flew up a few weeks ago for some work-stuff. He was wearing a sweater one day (it was maybe 90 F out), so I asked him if he was brain damaged. He indicated that he was, in fact, brain damaged because the heat they've been having in Laredo (notoriously hot all the time anyway) has caused him to think 90 is cold.

^ I've seen kids from Northern India with coats and gloves on in 90 degrees because 120F is normal summer heat for them.

We might be in for a supercell thunderstorms on Monday/tuesday...CAPE is looking very very high plus the low pressure system looks super low...980mbar even which is very uncommon for this time of year....heck it's bit unusual even for fall storms.

Temps might rocket up to 30C on Monday which then leads to the arrival of a cold front from the south...makings of a perfect storm.

Well that was a whole lot of fuss about nothing. The bulk of the storm went to Sweden...

Bit of wind here that's it. Not a single lightning flash nothing...

Some storm damage though as my barbeque took a tumble and went to shit. It was a pretty heavy grill so I'm bit surprised that it got such a force in the wind to knock it down...but it did and now it's destroyed. Well honestly didn't do a lot of barbequing this year so it's not a big deal...other than financially ofcourse...but hey what's another 300€ to already a catastrophic financial year...

Was in dry heat in Albuquerque the last few days, now in the wet heat in Dallas.

Dry heat is SO much better. Ah well, October's only a month and a half away, more or less...

Wonderful few days here in Dallas, where the overnight lows are in the upper 70s / 25-26C. Back to hell on Thursday, but I'm so thankful for two nights where it's cool enough outside that my AC isn't running all night.

Texas heat.



It's 111F / 43-44C out there and I had to take a cool-down shower after running only 2 errands and bringing in groceries. While it's true my body doesn't handle heat well, this is insane stuff we got this year. August only part-way through and we still have the heat of the first part of September before it gets below 100/38.

Meanwhile, Southern California is getting its first-ever tropical storm watch and is set to get a year's worth of rain in a weekend. A little rain would be nice here, but there's such a thing as "too much" of something you want...

Today was perfect weather to be outside. One of those rare days that comes around once or twice a year.

Starting tomorrow it'll be muggy and 100 degrees. So heat index will probably be 110 or so. Supposed to hang around for a week or so.

Dallas *might* get a day early next week where the high is *only* 99F.
