We're had pretty nice weather now...around 20C (70F) and some rain every now and then.

400 degrees F. In my oven, but the blast of heat when I open my backdoor doesn't feel much different haha.

It does not feel different at all.

And with the overnight lows being so high, my house as a whole isn't cooling down as much overnight, so it heats up all the faster the next day.

I'm getting a radiant barrier installed and an insulation top-off when I get my solar panels installed. And I got a solid contractor to do the work, very highly recommended by real people.

But we're supposed to get below 100F next week. Maybe. Also a 20% chance of rain on a few days.

104 and rising still. Probably top out about 108. Heat Index is 115.

Going to be hotter tomorrow.

Then back to highs in the mid to upper 80s. Whew.

Looking at a weather map of the USA, there's basically been this heat dome sitting on a 500 mile wide stretch of land from southern Texas all the way to Minnesota, right up and down I-35 in the center of it.

Big ol' drought going on here. Not as bad as the last one, but still turning all the grass yellow. Very much hoping that the chance of rain for Sunday and Monday pays out and we get some good soakers.

Still drought here, but the highs are only in the mid-90s this week, so we'll take that. For the C folks, that's highs around 35-36C, positively much nicer than the ones over 40 we've had in the last few weeks.

All the flight cancellations in Europe right now! Is that due to the weather? Asking for a friend...

The flight problems were due to UK Air Traffic Controllers having a technical glitch which was resolved after a few hours but by then it had compromised flights for the next few days.

UGH, yes, read up more on it... someone filed a dodgy plan and instead of kicking it out with a "no", the system accepted it... then was programmed to block ALL OTHER flights because of the issue created by the dodgy one.

A nice day today...little rain earlier and now sunny and warm...was thinking about cycling but slept so poorly last night I have zero energy....
