Another bloody blizzard here now.

Complete white out conditions now....It's not snowing a whole lot but the wind is strong and it's moving the old snow around quite a bit... The snowing is going to get worse by evening...but luckily it should also turn to sleet...

Oof! February is such a tough month for the Northern Hemisphere at temperate latitudes and higher.

About 5 inches of wet snow came out of that....

I'm starting to be so done with this winter shit already!

Cleared the ice off my driveway today since it is in shade and does not want to melt.

Storm Dudley on its way tonight and tomorrow. Strong winds and rain but the worst of it will be the north of England and Scotland.

Storm Eunice is arriving right after on Friday... and it could be a biggie... and we could see the worst of it!

Some sleet again today....been nice and warm for the past few days...but not warm enough to melt the snow and ice though....

Looks like it's gonna freeze up good again for the weekend... Can't this fuckin' winter end already!?!!?

I think the UK would be glad of a little snow and ice, Storm Eunace is going to be a biggie. The MET Office have already issued a RED weather warning (AM Friday) for the south west of England and South Wales... with an AMBER warning for the rest of England and Wales. 100mph winds are expected in exposed areas and even inland areas are looking at 60-80mph winds.

100mph winds are serious business! So are 60-80! Hurricane-force winds, those!

Down here in Texas, it's just going to be 2 weeks of cold and cloudy, with rain/sleet coming in next week.

High winds here, but a couple of days of unusual warmth, in the 50's.

The Needles (off the The Isle of Wight) have recorded gusts up to 122mph this morning. But The Needles are very exposed and often get the strongest gusts. But a lot of other places have reported gusts in the 75-87mph range. I poped round the shops before it got too bad here, I wouldn't want to go outside at the moment.

What I find fascinating is that the MET Office predicted this storm back at the beginning of the week... it only actually developed on Thursday morning! The forecasts have come a long way in 35 years (back in 1987 we had a REALLY big storm which came as a complete surprise to the forecasters!!).

Reading headlines about damage and loss of life in Ireland and Poland from this storm. Hoping the best for everyone in Europe.

122mph is 54m/s! That's insane for non hurricane winds!

Computers have come a long way indeed. The downside of that ofcourse is that the meteorologists don't need to know as much about anything anymore...all they need to do is put the data on the screen for people to see...

Seems that computer models can predict bigger storms better and better....temps and showers and such are still pretty hard.

We got (surprise surprise) another 5 inches or so snow yesterday...this is getting ridiculous.

I get to travel to DC today, I head out of DFW just as the really cold stuff hits and come back as it warms up and DC gets the same system.
