Been blowing and raining for about 4 hours now....luckily most of it has been water and sleet so far...less than half an inch of snow has gathered so far...But the wind is gusting pretty well....

Got about 14 inches of snow.  Other parts of the state got as high as 26 inches.  Got to start digging out today.

Wow...14 inches is a lot! You got some plowing to do!

We only got around 5 to 6 inches (some of it very wet) took me over an hour to plow my yard...heavy snow for my little tractor...

Dallas gets an ice storm on Wednesday night and then stays below freezing until Saturday afternoon, that's our forecast.

We're having a couple of named storms one after another, but they have/will mainly affect the North of England and Scotland. High winds but not too cold.

Storm looks like it may dump more ice and snow than expected a few days ago. Ugh. Not predicted to be as bad as last year's, but an ice storm is still an ice storm.

Indeed it will. And a millimeter of ice may as well be a meter of the stuff, it's just as slippery, no matter how thin the layer. That's how I had a bad fall last year that banged up my elbow. Going to the stores today to stock up and get some magnesium chloride for the front walk.

Forecast for Dallas: .25-.5 inches of ice... so that's about .5-1.5cm of ice. Then 1-3 inches of snow, or 2-8cm of snow on top of that.

It's the ice that can break power lines here. While my part of the grid didn't go down last year, there's always a risk of a tree limb taking out a power line.

We got the ice, as expected, low snow numbers. Streets on their second day of being iced-over. Power lines holding up for the most part, that's good for everyone here.

Found out yesterday that calcium chloride is a great product for ice treatment. :)
