Well the brunt of the storm missed my area thanks to that unusual western shift.  Ordinarily the weather patterns travel west to east here.  Still, a lot of small branches and twigs to be cleared from my driveway.  Connecticut and Rhode Island were hit harder.  I hope Bogblast is okay.

The hurricane story commanded much attention: there was a flash flood event in Central Tennessee that killed 22 people so far. Happened overnight, 17 inches  - about half a meter - of rain.

It's been raining pretty much every day here for the past week or so... More than 130mm in total...which is about 2 times the average rainfall of august.

After a long and dry summer it does a lot of good...but honestly the constant raining begins to bother me already...eventhough I like rain...but enough's enough already!

Tropical storm headed for the south coast of Texas. While I have family and friends down that way, I'm not in danger - Dallas typically gets the leftover showers from tropical storms, if anything. Should be a major rain event, hopefully normal flood/flash flood concerns. If it moves quickly, it'll be a good thing.

Storm slowed down, not happy about that. I don't like flooding rains, they're not good for man nor beast, neither most plants.

Indeed. Up here, it's calm weather, last days of summer in Texas. Come first/second week of October, we'll be having very pleasant daily highs - around 75F - and plenty of days with a proper cool, dry briskness to them. I love Octobers in Texas.

Things got chilly here after two days of rain in the weekend.

Temp is now 52F....and that'll be the day temps from now on this week...nights might go under 40F...

Not so lovely..especially with that insanely cold northern breeze!

Meanwhile, in the NE USA, it's getting to be peak fall color season.

It just started raining yesterday and the temperature has gone down to between 8 and 12 Celsius. Fall is here!
Personally I love the Fall and Winter especially here on the Island, never gets dangerously cold and little to no snow.
Lots of Rain though that I also like, to a point.
