Rainy humid mess outside, but cooler than 90 F, so I'll take it.

Getting really warm again...

Tomorrow we're probably gonna clock 90F...dry heat though but still pretty warm for these parts. And again no signs of any rains or showers....let alone thunders!

This is getting ridiculous already...and it's gonna cause problems down the line again for a lot of people too as ground water levels are going down...

Very similar here.  Temperature not quite as high, but close.  I am going to have an expensive electric bill this summer.  Do you have air conditioning, Tyr66?

And Spain or Portugal could very easily top the highest temperature ever recorded for mainland Europe in the coming days... 48 °C or 118 °F.

I'm on the south coast of England and with the exception of a few days rain last weekend we have had wall to wall sunshine for something like 8 weeks... unheard of... this is the UK!!! I believe we topped out at 35 °C last week although being on the coast we didn't quite get those numbers.

not at all !  only daily closed windows and opened during the night and we have a tolerable 25 ° C (77 F) in.

Yeah, from what I've experienced, European air conditioning is nowhere near as powerful or as widespread as Texas air conditioning.

And it sounds like you all need some Texas-style AC for those Texas-style temperatures. If you live in a detached house, you can get a really fine unit installed for around $11,000 USD. If you live in an apartment, you're probably out of luck.

   A simple window AC for $200 or $300 will take care of a bedroom or 2.

Looks like temp is finally going down a bit next week...

Might even drop to 70s...which is nice.


I've got an ac unit in my bedroom...it's on for most of the day and I can drop the temp around 70 but because the rest of the house is so damn hot it won't take more than an hour or two to climb up to the 80s again...usually even before I can get any sleep...

But if the forecasts are right night time temp should drop to 50 something F next week so I'll be happy...my greenhouse plants not so much..
