I’m liking TWOTW more and more with every listen

Musically and especially vocally the song is quite good indeed. On normal standards the lyrics might not be poetry but on Priest standards they're business as normal.

Maybe KK should have let Tim work a bit on the lyrics, he said in an interview that because of the covid thing he worked on everything alone, but said the next album will be a proper band effort.

I think its an all round poor song. It sounds overly commercial and bland straight off. There’s not even a riff or hook or catchy vocal line to hitch yourself to and the lyrics as mentioned are just flat out bad.

Priests lyrics have been hit or miss over their career, some brilliant some not so, but Rob always  made them work with the way he delivered them and the music behind them was always strong & memorable most of the time.

I fear the worst for this band. It seemed to have potential when it was announced with KK, Les Binks and Owens putting his Halford spin on it but the tracks I’ve heard have been really underwhelming & disappointing. It sounds like forgettable stock standard soulless assembly line metal which is similar to a lot of Rippers other countless projects that don’t end up going anywhere.

I preordered a signed vinyl so was really banking on it being good to great but the 3 tracks I’ve heard have been anything but good or great. Shame Les Binks didn’t hang around too.

The vocal phrasing, the drums, guitar, bass, each of them are very well executed. But put together they seem, well, "put together". Automated. Calculated. Freeze-dried. The lyrics don't bother me, it's supposed to be a "ra-ra" song, so I'm not expecting sappy Cat Stevens or intellectual King Crimson. But if you're going to play to the base, so to speak, it needs to have grit and feeling. And the song being discussed just makes me want to turn it off and go listen to some actual Judas Priest.

Now I want to hear either Rob Halford belting out a Judas Priest cover of "Oh Very Young" or Cat Stevens doing a solo acoustic arrangement of "Living After Midnight".

The new Whitesnake bassist is a g-g-g-girl!!!

It's Tanya O'Callaghan an Irish bassist who replaces Michael Devin who left a few days ago after 11 years.

She's worked with a few names previously such as Steven Adler, Dee Snider, Maynard James Keenan, Nuno Bettencourt, Michael Angelo Batio and Orianthi.
