Listened to it live via the ESPN radio app.

Wow! Did not see that coming. Great comeback by the Bengals and now they’re off to the Super Bowl whilst KC is done.

LA-SF game just wrapped up. It was a good game, but the KC-CIN game was better.

So up until last year there’s never been a Super Bowl team host the Super Bowl, now there’s been 2 in 2 years?

I’m well & truly on the Bengals bandwagon though.

I want both of them to win, they've had some great games thus far this year. That's not how football works, though, so I'll have to think hard about who I think will win the Super Bowl.

Leaning towards the Bengals, they were able to adjust and shut things down after the half, they are no fluke. Getting a Philly 2018 vibe off of them. Then again, Stafford's able to pull off more than a few tricky plays, so I'm back trying to sort the teams...

To see guys like Stafford, Beckham, Miller, and Apple who had been talked about as being good but not good enough now on teams headed to the Super Bowl... kind of shows how it wasn't them, it was the Lions, the Giants, the Browns, and the Broncos that were the "not good enough" factor, not the players. Whereas Darnold and Wentz pretty much showed this year that it was them, not just the teams they were on.

And the other big story from the weekend: Brady retiring. His camp is pretty much denying that he's retiring right *now*, but that may be so he can get his bonus coming up this week... and *then* he can retire.

A fair bit happening in the NFL the last few days. Brady’s retirement, Brian Flores explosive claims and lawsuit.

…and the Washington Commanders

Washington Football team was better

Usually, coaches are fired for not *enough* wins. Flores got the Dolphins turned around after an awful start, so I was shocked to see him fired.

Brady is retired and 31 NFL coaches had a sigh of relief. :smug: Such a great player, I'm thankful to have seen him in action, especially his amazing connections to Gronk.

Yeah... the Commanders... will they be "Commies" for short?

OK, looking things over for the Super Bowl:

1. Rams are designated the visiting team by the NFL, so therefore no home field advantage for them. As if that matters to the Bengals. So, taking that out of the equation.

2. The Rams will sack Burrow a bunch, potentially. Burrow is the most-sacked in the league. That does not seem to impact the Bengals winning things, so take that out of the equation.

3. Rams have OB Jr and Cooper Kupp. Bengals have Chase and Higgins (Questionable now, but in 2 weeks, I think he'll be active). Defensive backfields are going to go nuts, I'd expect there to be quite a lot of passing from both teams - so who shuts down opposing QBs' passing games the best? The Rams silenced Brady and the Bengals managed to shut down Mahomes... the answer to that question is, "Yes, good question."

4. Who has the better coach? Answer: Yes, another good question.

5. Rams are the odds favorites, but that's just a thing Vegas does to even out the action. David vs Goliath, this ain't. More like two evenly matched teams playing each other at their peak.

I gotta be emotional with this pick: like the Cinderella Eagles of a few years ago, I *want* the Bengals to win. So what the heck, I'll pick 'em. After all, one roots for the "home" team, right? :D
