Today we've got two exciting matches

Croatia vs Spain...both teams took their time to ignite but both of their previous matches were great. So I am expecting this to be rather tight. I like both teams so I don't really have a favourite but I do believe Spain will win...but it might require extra time.

France vs Switzerland.... The swiss haven't been the team they used to be. And honesty they shouldn't have even made it past the group stage. France has been steady good so I'm expecting them to win this one.

But who knows there is a bit of a surprise factor potential here as well...

Yes, on paper Croatia and Spain should be a watchable game and Spain should just edge it. 2-1 to Spain

France v Switzerland should be a more one sided affair, "Should" doesn't necessary follow but I'm sure France will have too much for the Swiss. 3-1 to France.

What a bizarre Own-goal by Spain. The keeper completely takes his eye off the backpass and deflects it into his own net! You do see these occasionally but it's rare. The backpass might have been a little heavy but even so!

Still time to redeem themselves!

That was without a doubt the biggest screw up in this tournament. Well usually there is one of these in every tournament but that was probably the funniest we've seen in a long time....

But Spain redeemed themselves quite fast...even steven after the first half.

8 goals in one match! That's quite something!

Deserved win for Spain...Croatia was strong but they ran out of juice.

But what a match! Usually these games are bit tighter and more tactical not a goal fest...well this one was!

Well well well....is Switzerland gonna pull an Austria? So far France is struggling quite a bit...granted the swiss have parked a bus and a van and the neighbour's dog to the defence block but still...

It needed a missed penalty* for the Swiss to finally kick France in to action. 2 quick goals and while the Swiss still look dangerous I doubt they have enough to get back into it.


* 15 penalties so far and 7 have been saved or missed!

But the Swiss comeback just like Croatia did...unreal....just unreal. They sure had luck on their side as well.

And considering the luck momentum they've got going on I'm thinking they are gonna win and France is out...

First penalty kicks of the tournament...and Mbappe's curse continues. It's like there's a shield infront of the goal everytime he tries to score...well this time the shield had a name...Jan Sommer.

And France is out. Another huuuge surprise again for the final 8.

3-3 after extra time, the Swiss win 5-4 on penalties!

You know what, except for that spell in the second half when they got their goals the French didn't seem to be at the level needed to win. The Swiss played out of their skins to claw it back to 3-3, and then held their nerve in the Penalty Shoot-out.

Yes, the last 8 is shaping up to have some strange names in it... but so did the last European Championship!
