I would probably just have all the Ramones in, rather than just Joey. Was he that much more influential than the others?

And while Grohl isn't my cup of tea, he is very popular, so no surprise there.

I think the induction is for one person at a time, so of the Ramones, I guess he's going with the frontman.

This week's induction was Chris Cornell.

Now he's someone I wouldn't have nominated personally. Although I do understand how the Grunge got big and it was a big deal and all but I hate grunge and everything with it.

I'm in agreement with you, Charger. Curt Cobain was much more the face of grunge than Cornell. Cornell was very talented, but I wonder if it's on the same level as many of the other nominees.

I quite liked Soundgarden, I've got a couple of their albums, but I'm not sure he (or any of them) are worthy of nomination here.

I wanted to like Soundgarden, but their philosophy of "we play Black Sabbath songs without the parts that suck" made me wonder what parts they found sucky in the Sabbath tunes... and I didn't really hear that in their music, either. I find Mos Generator to be much closer to the 70s Sabbath sound than Soundgarden ever were.

It's more like the opposite. They play Sabbath like songs with only the sucky parts!

Pretty much my thoughts... don't make a cocky statement like that unless you can back it up, and then don't make a cocky statement like that anyway. Stay classy and let someone else say that.

Well all in all modesty ain't something you'd associate with Grunge anyways. They were all kind of the "we are the best and we make the most popular radio play music and screw heavy metal" attitude...and the kids at the time ate it alive.

... with the dividing line between grunge and metal thin enough, as is. Ah well, they've always got the Emo crowd to connect with.

This week's induction was PETE TOWNSEND from The Who...

Another worthy addition to the list I'd say. The Who (although not among my favourites but I do love some of their songs) was a ground breaker as well during the late 60s early 70s.

Good choice.

Yes, The Who were an important part of the early rock scene along with Hendrix, Cream, The Yard Birds etc. Granted they are a little hit or miss in the early days, but some of their later stuff is fantastic. Not much of a fan a Townsend's solo stuff, but that's not why he's on this list.

Well done, our Pete!

The guy's a driving force in rock, no question. Pretty much invented the rock opera.

Agree with the Townsend nomination. Chris Cornell, not so much.
