No, there is predictable where you know the sort of things which will happen but not necessarilly how it will happen, which can sometimes have a clever twist, and then there is knowing "exactly" what and how things are going to happen in the next 70 minutes, sitting there ticking off every step as it happens... and hoping it wouldn't! I'm not saying Rambo is unique in this.

One of the things I did like and wished had gone on longer (and in more detail) was the montage of traps being set.

This I can agree with. Those traps were so damn awesome they would have deserved more screentime that's for sure!

We watched Lords of Chaos on rental over the weekend. The story behind the formation of the Norwegian Black Metal band Mayhem. It stars Rory Culkin as Euronymous, Emory Cohen as Varg and Jack Kilmer as Dead. The film is incredibly violent showing several suicides and murders in graphic detail.

I honestly thought it would be awful, and while it's no masterpeice it is quite watchable, if a little over long. 6/10

I’ve been trying to get “From Beyond The Grave” with Donald Pleasence and his daughter Angela Pleasence, bit it’s not uploaded on YouTube, I’ll have to see if I can get it online somehow.

Not as good as Dr. T's H of Hs, but still worth viewing.

You should check your local library, Elves.  I borrow a dvd from mine every week, all for free.

A woman with extrasensory perception is asked to help find a young woman who has disappeared.  A mixed review for me.  A strong cast (positive).  Supernatural mumbo jumbo (negative). 6.5/10

Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities, take fate into their own hands, and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.  Strong cast. 7.5/10

Based on a novel, a Japanese-American fisherman is accused of killing his neighbor at sea. In the 1950s, race figures into the trial.  Decent story, but flashbacks were a bit to lengthy. 6.5/10

Hey Typhon, I know you're a Hammer House fan, have you ever seen Legend Of The Seven Golden Vampires?

We saw Hustlers yesterday, the story of pole dancers who take their careers into their own hands and into a dark direction. Based on true events it stars Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and Julia Styles with Lopez actually generating some awards season buzz with this performance.

In fact the performces are better than the film as a whole which is a little dull. It's described as a "comedy, crime, drama" but there was very little comedy to be found here.

Lopes says that learning to Pole Dance is the hardest thing she's ever had to do, but she was very good on the pole and for someone who has just turned 50 she's either had a lot of "work" done or has really looked after herself. Not withour its good points this film wasn't as good as we had hoped. 6/10
