The story of the life and academic career of the pioneer Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan, and his friendship with his mentor, Professor G.H. Hardy.  Being a mathematician myself, it is hard for me not to love this movie.  But I think anyone would enjoy it. 8.5/10

I'll keep my eyes open for this one, I like math movies. :)

This movie gets toasted by the critics, I however found it to be entertaining. It is full of historical inaccuracies and omits very important characters and their actions that changed the course of time and their respective empires. The dialogue is poorly written but serviceable   Cate Blanchett did a very good job with the horrible mess that she was given. 6.5/10

Three kids hire a low-budget bodyguard to protect them from the playground bully.  A few laughs. 5.5/10

Interesting and fun movie which I added to my Hammer collection.  One of the few I had never seen before. 7/10

Was a cold dreary rainy day in Melbourne so I decided to take the day off and finally got around to watching Bohemian Rhapsody.

Whilst I was entertained during it, it was a bit underwhelming to be honest given the hype and publicity it had and I kinda felt unfulfilled by movies end.

Just wasn't in depth enough for my liking with lots of timeline jumps and historical inaccuracies in both song and events. It's definitely not a movie for die hard Queen fans, more your general music fan that knows Queen in song only.

Set designs and costumes were spot on with some greats performances though,  particularly from Rami Malek who played Freddie, was thoroughly deserving of his best actor Oscar. Also, the Live Aid performance was incredibly well recreated.

Still yet to see a truly great music biopic though. 6/10

Watched this for the 2nd time.  It kept me glued to the screen just like it did the 1st time I saw it 9 years ago.  It is what I would call a man's movie. 9/10

A disgruntled wife of a cheating husband takes off on a road trip with her husband's "other woman".  The two women pick up a hitchhiker who may, or may not, be a robber and murderer.  Some good suspense, but lacks a decent ending. 6/10

A 39 year old woman splits with her husband, is worried about never having a baby, is contacted by the mother who gave her up for adoption, and I did not care about any of it.  Whoever wrote the dialogue for this film should find another line of work.  Not a single laugh. 2/10

Holy F&%K this is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever attempted to watch. I say attempted because I had to turn it off by the 3/4 mark or I might have committed a random murder  :squint: . Anyway watching mold grow would have had better special effects and a much better story as well. The lead was some unknown pretty boy who was so annoying. The racist and stereotypical incompetent side kick role by one of the Wayan clan only served to destroy any of the goodwill this mess may have had. I was a player of AD&D and D&D though I spent most of my time as a Dungeon Master and I loved every minute of it. So it was with some excitement that I started to watch this. What a crash back to reality. 1/10

:))  Thanks for the warning, Thel.  Although after seeing the trailer, I probably would never have watched it anyway.  The Wayan guy looked so out of place, it was stupid.  What's AD&D?

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, just a variation of Dungeons and Dragons.

Thanks, maybe they will come out with that movie, too.  :))

I hope not, there seems to be insufficient interest in "sword & sorcery" films outside of Tolkien and GoT. And given the budgets needed to do the CGI properly no one will make any money. Even Warcraft had to rely on the far east gamers market to barely break even (I really enjoyed it though!).

EDIT: Ah, Crap! I just looked it up on IMDb... there are two sequels (Wrath of the Dragon God 2005 and Book of Vile Darkness 2012) as well as another Dungeons and Dragons films scheduled to come out in 2021!!!
