Financial TV host and his producer are put in an extreme situation when an irate investor takes them and their crew hostage.  A little contrived but not bad. 7/10

Suppose to be a comedy but alas few laughs were had. The scenery is beautiful as it takes place on a tropic island.
Still a fun watch if a bit dated. 6.5/10

I saw John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum yesterday. The action packed film starring regulars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick, with a returning Laurence Fishburne and new faces Halle Berry, Angelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon and Mark Dacascos. The film starts immediately after the events of Chapter 2 when Wick has been given an hour to escape before a bounty on his head is released. There follows 2+ hours of almost non-stop adranaline-fueled action where countless assassins try to kill Wick and claim that bounty.

It is one of the best action films ever, the choreographed fight scenes are (on the whole*) amazing, only the two Raid films do a better job IMO. While it often breaks the laws of physics and Wick survives injuries which should have killed him, you don't need logic here, its that much fun. Some of the one liners work too!! 9.5/10

* There's one fight in the glass penthouse which seemed poorly edited and didn't flow so well, but I can forgive that one flaw.

A high school teacher from a troubled inner city Washington D.C. neighborhood becomes a super-powered hero and takes on the gang that has been terrorizing his streets.  I guess you Marvel fans missed this one.  :))  3/10

This was a beautiful movie scenically  but the story has not aged well and the potrayal of the Indians is so banal that even at the time this aspect was derided. 6/10

A 20-something supervising staff member of a residential treatment facility navigates the troubled waters of that world alongside her co-worker and longtime boyfriend.  Some good drama.  7.5/10

AVENGERS ENDGAME

The movie start nearly straight after the events of Infinity War with half of all life on the galaxy wiped out by Thanos as the surviving members of the Avengers and other heroes try to cope with the loss try to fight back only to find it futile after they track down Thanos.
5 Years later a glimpse of hope comes in the form of Scott Lang aka Ant-Man who might have an idea how to set things straight.

The movie focuses more on Captain America and Iron Man than the previous part which was more of an ensemble cast and rightfully so as they are without a doubt the main characters of the entire saga. And both Chris Evans and Robert Downey jr. absolutely shine through out the movie, but ofcourse they aren't alone.

There is much more melancholy present through out the movie than I think on any other Marvel movie which is not a bad thing especially as it is balanced perfectly with great humor and fantastic action.

The sad thing ofcourse is that this features final appearances of some of the most iconic superhero characters of all time. And there really are some real tearjerker moments. The drama is much more prominent here but there is also promise of future.

Endgame was a perfect ending to a near perfect saga which lasted a staggering 22 movies over an 11 year period.  I can honestly say 3 hours has never flown by quite this fast. And even as such some scenes almost seemed rushed which makes me believe a longer directors cut version might be coming on future bluray releases and I for one can't wait to see that.

I have never felt quite so sad and happy at the same time after leaving the theater. Happy that I got to be on this wild ride Marvel offered us with all these characters and sad because in so many ways this marked the end of an era.

Boring and stupid this comedy delivered very few laughs. I expected more since it was written by Dangerfield, who usually is quite funny. 3.5/10

I have always found that a lot of great standup comedians can't deliver in movies.

After the family matriarch passes away, a grieving family is haunted by tragic and disturbing occurrences, and begin to unravel dark secrets.  Some good scares. 7.5/10
I watched this a couple of days ago, I’m watching it again to see if I pick up on the clues, is there a hidden message to this movie I didn’t get? Besides the grandmother was evil and a devil worshiper.

We saw Rocketman this weekend, the biopic of Elton Johns rise to fame starring Taron Egerton as Elton John, Jamie Bell as lyricist Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as manager John Reid and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton's mother. It is directed by Dexter Fletcher who completed Bohemian Rhapsody after Bryan Singer was sacked.

This is a warts 'n' all story so the sex and drugs play an important part in the film. The songs are there to reflect the mood in the film and rarely appear in the right time frame. Which is fine by me, it doesn't jar in the same way a couple of songs appeared out of chronology in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Taron Egerton is very good as Elton John, he does his own singing, and the make-up department doesn't need to do too much work to make him look like the real thing.

I think overall the story is little less coherent than Bohemian Rhapsody and the fantasy elements don't really work for me. I would say Bohemian Rhapsody is marginally the better film. 8/10

I don't think so, although I have only seen it once, also.
