We saw The Spy Who Dumped Me this weekend. While it has some funny moments and Kunis and McKinnon seem to work well together, the plot is pretty generic, there are not enough funny moments and Gillian Anderson is wasted. I would add that Kunis for the most part does not look her usual gorgeousness until towards the end of the film where she goes blonde with a low-cut evening dress at which point she is gorgeous again!! 5/10

Last Friday night I watched The Babadook.....Very good movie. Wouldn't call it a Horror film, maybe more of a suspense type film. The kid and mom were amazing in this film. Highly recommend.  7.5/10

Saturday I watched The Redwood massacre and Spring breakers. Redwood was a typical horror gore fest. Way too much blood and guts for me and not enough scares. 5/10
Spring Breakers I will admit I only watched because Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens were in it. Lots of female skin but otherwise a bad horrible movie. 2/10

Last night I finally watched The Conjuring. WOW! Scared the crap out of me. Was watching it on my phone and I must say I dropped my phone 3 times from being scared. Great movie! 9.5/10

Yes, The Conjuring is a good one.  If on the phone scared you that much, then imagine a good sized television.

Will be heading to the Renaissance Faire on Columbus Day, October 8th, with a small group.  To get myself in the proper mood I watched this last night.  Always loved this film.  By far my favorite version. 8/10

Last night I watched the Bollywood hit Pad Man, based on the life story of an Indian entrepreneur who wanted to overcome fear and superstition in his country by providing sanitary pads for women.



Of course, it's movied-up with a love triangle in there, but the heart of the film is still the misunderstood do-gooder that endures everything in order to be the person he knows he should be.

^^^ Agreed, it was very good. But... it made a huge loss at the box office, and there were a lot of disgruntled fans complaining about the casting choices. I don't think there will be a sequel (I hope I'm wrong), but I think Disney may have just found out that they can't do 2 Star Wars films a year like they can with the MCU.

We saw King of Thieves the other day. It's about the Hatton Garden Jewellry heist in 2015 by a bunch of retired (therefore elderly!) crooks. A stella cast including Michael Caine, Jim Broadbent, Ray Winstone, Tom Courtney, Michael Gambon, Charlie Cox and Paul Whitehouse work with a solid (if unspectacular) script to produce a pretty enjoyable film. And despite trailers suggesting otherwise this is NOT a comedy and Broadbent does a good job at being "nasty". As suggested it's a bit "by the numbers" but it's fine. I'm not quite sure what the international release of this will be I suspect it will be minimal. 7/10
