I can't really pick a favourite anymore...But I'll see what happens after I've watched them all again...

The only one I can say is the worst is ofcourse Craig...he's character is not James Bond...not even close.

Roger Moore was the Bond I grew up with from very young to my teens so was always my favourite but as I matured I realised he was actually a shit actor, like a really shit actor, wooden as fuck and is probably the worst of the lot.

Sean Connery is the greatest Bond of all time and the rest of them are all Connery wannabes.

I think that Moore was purposely wooden, that was his style. It was part of that whole more comedic approach. But lets see what I'll think nowadays once I get that far...

Just finished You Only Live Twice which still remains the best of the Connery era bonds. Just a suberb movie...the little Nellie chopper fight is still among the greatest action scenes of all times.
The only thing really bringing that movie down is Nancy Sinatra's lackluster theme song. Lacks punch that one.

I've not minded any of the actors regardless of ability, but I tend to go for Connery as my favourite.

@Charger, is it Daniel Craig you don't like or the films he's in?

I don't really have a problem with Craig himself he seems like a good enough actor, but the character he plays on the movies is NOT James Bond...it's a british Jason Bourne clone and that's the big problem for me. James Bond was something special with every other actor...but in the Craig movies he was just another dime a dozen action guy. Granted I have not seen the last one (nor do I have any desire to) and I only managed to get about half way of Spectre before my patience ran out...that was a horrible film...not that Skyfall was any better though.
The movies if considered run of the mill action flicks aren't too bad...but as James Bond movies they are atrocious.

Reading about why Connery left Bond-ship... he wasn't on speaking terms with Broccoli during the filming of You Only Live Twice and walked away from the role. Timothy Dalton turned down an offer to be Bond then because he was too young at the time to portray, in his own mind, a proper version of James Bond.

So they picked the model George Lazenby for his first-ever film role to be James freakin' Bond! And, amazingly, both Moore and Connery felt that he did a good job in the role, who'd a thunk it?

I'll say this... if there was a reboot of Star Trek in England in the late 60s, Connery would make a great Kirk and Moore would hands-down be Spock. I like Roger Moore's dry wit - he's *very* British in his portrayal. His earlier films are the best ones, he's getting tired towards the end of his run.

And though I don't like the Craig Bond films all that much, I think Craig himself is a fantastic actor in the other roles I've seen him in. And, to be sure, he did get the franchise back into box-office leadership after it had slumped.

Yes the relationship between Broccoli's and Connery had gone very sour during the filming of that movie...which ofcourse was a big shame.

Lazenby's bond is next on my list (most likely will get to it on Sunday) I do ponder how I'll rate that nowadays...I actually didn't mind it (or him) back in the day...

I just love Roger Moore as Bond and my second favorite is Sean Connery.
I also have a soft spot in my heart for Pierce Brosnan as he was the one I grew up with in my teens.

The only one I don't like is George Lazenby

I just finished watching Dr No and then I watched Spectre. Connery was amazing from the start and the debut movie was great.
I found Spectre to be the best of the Daniel Craig bond films. One thing is the constant insults from his supposed colleagues and the belittling attitude they show towards him

Looks like I started a bit of a Bond thing here! :)

I just watched On Her Majesty's Secret Service again.

There's some great action scenes, like the skiing bit which was quite advance for it's time. However the end battle at Blofeld's camp was bit of a letdown especially after the brilliant fight of the last movie. Also the middle part of the film was pretty slow and also bit on the daft side as ofcourse Bond and Blofeld had met in the previous one...HOWEVER ofcourse this was actually meant to be shot before You Only Live Twice which explains that little paradox, but it could have been done better.

Lazenby was better than I remembered. But he lacks the charisma and the dry humor of Connery.

Watching Thunderball at this moment and I truly like it but I believe it is the weakest of the Connery bond films

Next up is the truly amazing The Spy Who Loved Me considered one of the best 007 movies

I finished Diamonds Are Forever again and it was even better than I remembered. In fact I'm gonna go out and say it's the best of the Connery-era.

There's a ton of good humor, good action and Charles "Mycroft Holmes" Gray does a great job as Blofeld. The only real let down is Jill St. John who isn't really all that pretty and honestly bit annoying.

Connery does a really great job with this and is a testament to his acting abilities as he wasn't all that keen about reprising the role.
