This was just a great movie overall let alone being one of the best of the Star Trek movies. It is certainly the most entertaining and only Wrath Of Khan do I hold above it in this great franchise. 8.5/10

My second favourite Trek movie only surpassed by the incredible, fantastic and marvellous First Contact.

Saturday Night Sci-Fi

A scientist's drive for artificial intelligence takes on dangerous implications when his own consciousness is uploaded into one such program.  A good storyline, but a bit flattened for me because of a technique used that I hate.  That being, the first scene depicts the final outcome, and then a flashback in time in order to show how it got there.  Otherwise, a lot of entertaining things done well.  7/10

MAGNUM FORCE

In the second movie "Dirty" Harry Callahan begins to investigate murders of high profile criminals and soon it becomes evident that the killings are done by a group of young rogue vigilante cops. Harry then must defend the system he does not always agree with against cops who take the law into their own hands.

This is a tad bit slower than the first one but gives great character development for Harry and showcases once again what an absolute icon Clint Eastwood already was at this point. His acting is simply stellar. Hal Holbrook's preformance is nothing shy of incredible as well. The four vigilante cops are played by young actors David Soul, Robert Ulrich, Tim Matheson and Kip Niven who all became stars in their own rights in years to come.

Again the beautiful city of San Francisco plays a huge role in the movie especially during the lengthy and rather brilliant (and somewhat forgotten) car chase scene at the end of the movie.

Although not quite as legendary as the first movie this too has held the test of time very well and is quite underrated and should get more recognition.

And this also happens to be Clint Eastwoods own personal favourite of all the Dirty Harry movies.

A ghost writer, hired to complete the memoirs of a former British Prime Minister, uncovers secrets that put his own life in jeopardy.  Strong cast, intriguing story, directed by Roman Polanski. 8/10

Love it - just love it  I give it a 8/10.

This is one hell of an action movie. The effects are incredible and the story is solid. This is the last of the essential Terminator movies IMHO also I give it a 8.5/10

We watched Waiting for Guffman last night. It was the first of Christopher Guest's ensemble movies. I love his character of Corky St. Clair, the totally optimistic theater person. It's just such a sympathetic character. The "My Dinner with Andre action figures" at the end is a final treat in the film.

Saturday Night Sci-Fi

An amusing film about Nazis who have set up a secret base on the dark side of the moon in 1945 where they hid out and plan to return to power in 2018.  With decent effects and a couple of hot women, I enjoyed it. 8/10

Wow...gotta say that surprises me...

As that movie (a Finnish movie I might add in case you didn't know) was a massive disappointment for me...sucky so called humor, bad acting, and idiotic storyline.

The guys who made that movie started their career with a bunch of AWESOME Star Trek parodies called Star Wreck...first in animation form then live acting later on in the 90s...those were stellar with crazy off the hook humor and everything...

By the way the sequel to Iron Sky is called The Coming Race and if possible that was even worse! And it was a huuuuuuuge flop too. Where the first film atleast had some commercial success eventhough most people who saw it hated it!

Sure, the storyline is nuts, and is why I found it amusing.  Same with the bad acting (especially by the 2 hot women :excited:).  I certainly would not pay to see it, but for free?

Well I did pay to see it in the theaters...I was utterly disappointed...to say the least.

The nutty storyline and the bad acting needed some real wacky humor in order to make it work...like it was in the old Star Wreck parodies...but here there was none...it was all done too seriously and such it failed miserably...and it's sad cause this had potential...such potential indeed.

My experience with Finnish films so far as been pretty hit and miss. Either I love it, or I just leave it.

"Leningrad Cowboys Go America" will always be a fun film for me. Truly hilarious road trip movie.

THE ENFORCER

Inspector Harry Callahan loses his long time partner to a bunch of money hungry terrorist militants and in the course of his investigation gets a new female partner who at first he can't see eye to eye with but as the case goes on she proves herself to him and then after the militants kidnap the mayor and Callahan gets suspended the two go after the nutjobs to save the mayor and take them down.

The third movie of the franchise adds a little more humor into the mix but doesn't forget the meaningful and somewhat brutal roots.

Jerry Fielding's music adds a bit more funky jazz elements in comparison to Lalo Schiffrin's atmosphere and it works perfectly to the slightly lighter tone of the movie.

Clint Eastwood adds yet another layer to the Dirty Harry character and Bradford Dillman as the abnoxious Captain McKay is nothing short of brilliant. Tyne Daly as Inspector Moore adds the humor but also brings a whole new side out of Harry which is a delight to watch.

The city of San Francisco is bit less represented here than on the previous movies but the final sequence at the prison island of Alcatraz is fabulous and well shot.

This movie only further solidified the iconic state of the Harry Callahan character and Clint Eastwood as one of the greatest action stars of the 20th century.

Saturday Night Sci-Fi

As a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse.  Computer graphics was developed for films like this.  Somewhat exciting and entertaining. 7/10
