First time I've heard that! I've heard/read about those guys, but never knowingly listened to them.

That song has a very Tony Martin vibe to it - thanks for posting it!

Speaking of Tony Martin

Here he is singing with Candlemass!!!

This was before Messiah came back for the 2005 album they considered Tony...but Tony wasn't all too keen as he didn't think he was a good fit...but this song rocks and it's better than the version that made it to the album.

54 years ago this week, Grand Funk Railroad's Closer to Home album got RIAA certified gold and the band got displayed in an ad on a Times Square billboard.

HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY to MEGADETH's Turbo RISK!

I remember when this came out I had been a Megadeth fan for about a year or so...not a big fan yet at that point but I did own few of their albums... Cryptic Writings being the top dog at the time for me.
I think Crush 'em was the first song I heard and I was like...okay...this is bit different...but I still kind of liked it. My (now a distant, but back then he lived very near me) cousin was a bigger Megadeth fan and he bought this album as soon as it came out and we listened to it together and were both bit in shock actually...What was going on? This isn't Megadeth is it?!? Surely not! But it was...

This has a lot in common with Priest's Turbo.... This was a totally uncalled, unnecessary and unwanted change in musical direction, towards more commercial and pop oriented sound. Priest did it with guitar synths Megadeth did it with adding techno beats and what nots...nobody asked for them and in the end nobody wanted them either.
Both albums now sound horribly dated and products of their time...granted Turbo bit more even, but it's not like Risk aged with grace either.

Crush 'Em is still the only song I can listen from the album without puking in my mouth a bit...kind of the same thing with Turbo and Turbo Lover...granted the latter being a much much much better song.

But even mistakes should be celebrated or we'll never learn from them, so Happy 25th RISK!

HAPPY 40th ANNIVERSARY to IRON MAIDEN's magnum opus POWERSLAVE!

This was the high water mark of Maiden and after this their slow but steady decline began which lead to Bruce's departure and Blaze breathing in new fresh life to the band.
Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) was the first Maiden song that I heard...and it was in MIDI format and it still rocked and got me hooked for life!

Oh for god's sake. 45 years. I can't even believe it. Still recall when it came out, a friend had it on 8-track and we were riding in his van and he said, "Here's the new Sabbath without Ozzy".

And it rocked hard. Seems like yesterday.

Wow, yeah, that's 45 years ago... and I'm not 12 anymore, but that album sounds totally fresh, even today.

I was just getting into Sabbath in 1980... so it's probably only 44 years old for me! :D

HAPPY 35th Anniversary to DIO's LOCK UP THE WOLVES!

This is my least favourite DIO album but it still has some good tunes and the title track is a monster!

Wow, 35 years...

I think I'll say that for every anniversary, to be sure.

I did notice that indeed!

I still think MEGALOMANIA is the high point of Ozzy vocally. That song just rips!
