I agree. I find that the Joe Lynn Turner era material just fades more and more as time wears on. "Eyes of Fire" can still hold up, but it's essentially "Gates of Babylon" heading towards "Perfect Strangers" and without either Dio or Gillan on vocals.

The JLT stuff even lost its sparkle to me when I was a kid. I did enjoy Difficult to Cure and Straight Between the Eyes a lot, but Bent Out of Shape... man, I *tried*, I *tried so harrrrrrrd* to like that album right after I bought it, unwrapped it, and put it on the turntable to give it a spin... and it just when nowhere for me. Since then, I've got less and less desire to revisit those albums, while I still get goosebumps for Rising/LLRNR.

A masterpiece and iconic album in the pantheon of music, not just metal.

Don’t wanna take anything away from Heaven and Hell but an unadulterated thrash classic celebrates its 35th anniversary today. Kinda fitting it shares every anniversary with Paul Baloff’s birthday.

I honestly haven't gotten into that album yet. I've listened it few times but Paloff's voice is a bit of a turn off for me so I haven't given it the chance it musically deserves.

I bought the album soon after it came out, same day I bought Killing Is My Business in fact which was fresh out at the time and it took me a little bit to get use to the vocals but the music was killer from the get-go and I eventually came around on the vocals. Very unique voice and vocal phrasing and his attitude was the epitome of a thrash frontman.  Along with Kill ‘Em All Bonded By Blood is the greatest thrash debuts and right up there as one of the greatest thrash albums period as far as I’m concerned...Just love that album so much.

I've been away from Exodus for a little bit since I've been getting some new stuff lately, but I think the next Exodus album that I'm gonna buy is this one...I think I need to give it more of a chance.

That album is old enough to be on its third marriage. :smug:
