HAPPY 18th ANNIVERSARY to the second ROB ZOMBIE album THE SINISTER URGE

The second album might not have been as huge as The Hillbilly Deluxe was back in 98 but it gave more of what has now become the classic Zombie sound. And with killer rockers like Demon Speeding, Dead Girl Superstar, Never Gonna Stop and Scum Of The Earth showcased that Rob Zombie was the new king of horror metal!

But Rob also knew how to change things up a bit with the exeptionally groovy Go To California and the title song for his first horror movie House Of 1000 Corpses.

Also Ozzy Osbourne joined Rob for the track Iron Head which is among the albums finest.

Great follow up to the Hillbilly Deluxe but the best days of the ZOMBIE were still yet to come!

Happy 15th anniversary to Nirvana's box set release.  A band that made a huge mark for legitimizing grunge music, despite what one very stubborn moderator's inexplicable negative opinion of this band is.   ;)

HAPPY 46th to DEEP PURPLE's BURN!!

Never been a big fan of Coverdale or Hughes but this album is brilliant! Heck it was the last brilliant Purple album until Purpendicular.
The title track, Mistreated (Although ofcourse the Rainbow version blows this out of the water), Sail Away and Just Might Take Your Life and Purple classics for sure.

Burn was the last DP album where Blackmore's focus was on the current project.

And Charger is right, Dio made "Mistreated" his own. But Coverdale totally owns "Burn". I like Hughes' solo version of the song, but Coverdale does it the best.

True that! I've heard some cover version of it but nothing has ever really matched the original. Coverdale is on top of his game on that one. In fact I'd go as far as to say it is his best vocal preformance I've ever heard.

And while I really enjoy Burn, it's the live versions of those songs that I really dig the most. "You Fool No One" I first heard live from Made in Europe and was a little disappointed with when I later heard the studio version.
