After what the US team did with Thailand I have to say I lost all respect for them...the unsportmanship was totally out of control. Also seems that the captain Rapinoe is quite the attention seeker with all of those non-footsy related comments she's making...again not something that really belongs into footsy in my opinion.

I do wish England would wipe the floor with the US!

Haha! Looks like I was day late to the party...and the US already won England yesterday! I was under the impression that it was tonight...damn.

Finals are on Sunday.

Either Netherlands or Sweden...second half is underway now and it's 0-0...probably going to penalty kicks I suppose..

Netherlands made it to the finals I see.

Sadly I don't think they'll put up much of a fight against the US either...Honestly the team has played well but their actions have so often been so despicable they really don't deserve the win.

How come they decide so many of these games with penalty kicks?  I watch a lot of hockey, and they play overtime until there is a goal.  It is one of the best things about the NHL playoffs.  They only use a shootout during the regular season.

In soccer, playing until there's a goal can result in matches going on for three days... and we already have cricket for that!

Well, even so... these guys have already been running hard for regulation time, extra minutes, and then overtime. I don't think European work rules allow them to run any more after that.

So Super Cup final tonight.

Another UK vs UK team situation and AGAIN Liverpool is one of them.

So Will they win this one too or can Chelsea pull a trick or two out of their collective butts?

Chelsea will struggle this season according to many pundits and may not challenge for the top 4. They lost their best player in the summer and have been banned from the transfer market until next summer. It's going to be a tough season for them particularly having lost 4-0 to a so-so Man Utd team in the first game of the season on Sunday. I think Frank Lampard should have waited a year before becoming their manager!

Liverpool "should" win this if they have the right attitude.

I don't really know how this Super Cup thingy ranks among the teams...will they go all in or treat it just like a warm up at the beginning of the season...

But haven't watched a whole footsy match since the Champions League Final so I'm gonna check this one out tonight.

Well I suppose the players Chelsea have left aren't going to suddenly become bad, but the loss of Hazard and being unable to add a quality play maker could be telling. They are appealing the transger ban but it's too late for the summer window.

I think the Super Cup is a "nice to win" trophy but no one will shed tears or lose sleep if they lose. It's a season opener which doesn't tell us anything about the coming season.
