Wow, I didn't see that coming... Spurs have sacked manager Mauricio Pochettino after 5 years. I know they haven't had a great start to the season, but they're not "that" far off the pace.

There's rumours that Jose Morihno is being lined up.

I doubt Pochettino will be too bothered, he can walk into any managers role he wants.

Don't think anyone saw it coming and I'm personally both shocked and bewildered at this decision. Hie record since arriving has been impressive leadimg them from perennial under-achievers to a strong club in the premier league again winning a league cup in his first season and qualifying them for multiple  champions league appearances culminating in the Champions league final last season.

Sure their form in the Premier league this season has been lacklustre at best but surely his past record and what he's done for the club has to count for something? Ridiculous decision.

Perhaps there was some schism between him and the owners...or between him and the players...?

Just saw the report that Mourinho has been hired as a replacement. Maybe they just wanted him instead?

It's the last chance for Morinho, he's not "the special one" anymore.

Do Barcelona or Real Madrid need a manager? We know who's available if they do.

After 30 years Liverpool have finally won the league in England... it wasn't even called the Premiership the last time they won.

As a Liverpool fan I think this is more important than the Champions League. They did it with a record 7 games to go and a chance of getting the highest points tally ever (but they might let up the gas now they've won, so we'll have to see!).

The relief of finally winning is like a weight being lifted!

Glad they were able to get the season back up & running so Liverpool could claim the title the right way. They thoroughly deserved it.

Klopp is the best manager/coach in world sport.

I do believe that the competition this year has taken a step backwards particularly Manchester City, but Liverpool still had to perform, and could not have done much more.

But Klopp is key to the success, he has taken good players and made them great.

Good to see Liverpool got their due. That story even made it to USA news. :)

Final day of the English Football season (except for some playoffs in the Championship).

Premier League Champions - Liverpool with 99 points, just missing the record (100) but I think they let their foot off the gas after they had guaranteed the title with 7 games to go.

Champions League Qualifiers - Manchester City (81 points), Manchester United and Chelsea (both on 66 points)

Europa League Qualifiers - Leicester City (62 points) after being in the top 4 virtually all season and Tottenham (59 points). Wolves (also 59 points) may qualify if Chelsea beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final next week otherwise Arsenal will get the spot).

Relegated - Norwich (21 points), Watford and Bournemouth (both 34 points). Aston Villa (35 points) just avoided relegation by getting a point on the last day. Geezer will be happy, I expect to see an FB post from his shortly.

Promoted into the Premiership - Leeds and West Bromich Albion gain automatic promotion. A 4-way playoff for the 3rd spot between Brentford, Fulham, Cardiff and Swansea

Spurs had a rather inconsistent season. Picked it up towards the end but the horse had bolted in terms of nabbing a Champions league spot. Don’t think they improved much if at all after Mourinho took over.

I thought Man City was going to be banned from next seasons champions league for cheating but just looked it up now and saw that the verdict was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport a couple of weeks ago.

What a bunch of bullshit!

Yep, the Manchester City situation is probably the death knell for The Fair Play rules. They will have to be revisited and amended but as they are it is dead in the water!

My God I just watched an absolutely ridiculous handball decision against Dier late in stoppage time to hand Newcastle a point against Tottenham. Fucking filthy on it  >:(

I've not seen it yet, but the same sort of thing happened yesterday to give Man Utd a very late win at Brighton. I know the rules on hand ball have changed slightly this season in light of some ridiculous VAR decisions last season, but I don't know if that's relevant here. Spurs have been a little mixed this season, either playing a blinder or being indifferent. Looking at the match stats, I can't help thinking they should have been more than 1-0 up as they entered stoppage time.

Edit: Ok, I've seen it now! Absolutely rediculous decision!

On a more positive note Leicester thrashed Man City 2-5!
