It's a Free Software Foundation "approved" app, so no ads, no tracking, no nada nunca.

Intersting...haven't heard about it. I don't use messaging apps though personally...as I have no one to message with.

In fact, it isn't just an approved app by the FSF - the GNU Project recommends it outright. I don't believe they had anything to do with creating it though. Just some developers (or maybe one, I don't know) that follow Richard Stallman's philosophy. Or maybe they did it in spite of his philosophy lol.

So I agreed to try out a new 5G internet plan because the provider said I wouldn't get any extra fees if it doesn't work. Well I agreed to that and they said they'd sent an installer here on Jan 2nd to test it out.

Well today I get a bill from the provider billing me with the use of the new 5G AND the new hub! EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN THEM YET AS the installer comes on Jan 2nd! Goddamn pricks!


I left a call back request to the customer service...when they'll call back I'll be giving a piece of my mind and it won't be the pretty piece.

Well problem sort of solved...they had made a mistake and owned up to it...however I do have to pay for the hardware eventhough I can't use 'em...which is bit ridiculous BUT if indeed the 5G isn't gonna work I will get a full refund...which is nice.

Found out someone had tried to get unemployment benefits with my personal information back in 2021. They couldn't confirm, so they never got them, but I still had to reset my account with someone from the Texas Workforce Commission yesterday. Got it all sorted out, my account is mine again.

Around the entire metro KC area for the past month, a woman has been following FedEx and Amazon trucks around and then walking up to the porch when they dropped off a package and stealing it. Not covered up/disguised/running/attempting to hide. Just strolls right along. They finally caught her, police asked what her story was and she said she just figured she had a smart idea to follow the delivery trucks and that she didn't think people had all of those video cameras that taped her.

There is a small area of town where people like to cook meth and take it. Then sell what they can't snort/smoke/inject. They manage to find their way out of that little area of town sometimes.

I mention that because when they caught that gal, in Kansas City, she is actually from my town. I was like, "of course she is".

I know I've mentioned that I don't really watch much TV. Due to my wife's condition, though, she does. The TV is on 24/7, so a lot of the time I'll catch bits and pieces of stuff as it runs in the background.

The past few weeks a commercial has been airing hawing Starbucks Coffee.

I don't go to Starbucks, but I'm not against the place or anything. But this commercial of theirs grates on my nerves to a high degree, and since I can't attack the people in it I can do the one thing in my power: never buy anything associated with Starbucks.

So henceforth I will never spend as much as one cent on anything from or related to Starbucks Coffee. I hope whoever designed that commercial trips on some steps and breaks their jaw and gets a handful of teeth busted out. Fucking bastards for foisting that shit on the world.

Ask and you shall receive. The TV stations play this thing about every five minutes it seems. When I went searching for it, I discovered I am not alone in my hate:

Well I can imagine that being rather annoying if it plays often. I saw it twice and frankly that's enough for me. Not that it's super horrible or anything but it is just bit...lame.

El Capitan is a granite formation in Yosemite National Park..here's a Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Capitan

In brief, one side of it has walking trails that you can use to hike to the top. The other side is a vertical wall of granite.

It is 2900 feet tall.

In 2017, a guy named Alex Honnold wanted to experience the view from the top of El Capitan, but rather than walking one of the trails, he decided to climb the sheer vertical face. Without a rope. It took him four hours to climb those 2900 feet straight up, but he made it.

I cannot even imagine. I wouldn't do that shit with a rope. Or two ropes haha. I mean, what if a bug decided to fly in his nose half way up and he had a sneezing fit?
