Had a pretty nasty stomach bug on the weekend or something... I even threw up...haven't done that in 20 years...felt like shit.

Don't know what it was though...maybe food poisoning or maybe something do with my on going intestine problems (meaning they are getting worse ofcourse) don't know. Went to the doctor they just thought of it as a stomach bug of somekind and sent me on my way with some ibuprofen and two sick days! :D

Well stomach region still hurts a bit but the fever's down...feeling pretty powerless but that's natural I'd imagine from not eating anything for two days and barely eating something yesterday.

I'm gonna try and eat bit more today again and gotta go back to work tonight as well. We'll see what'll come next then...but just letting you know that if you don't hear from me it just means I've died.

For sure, as we get older, we digest less of the stuff we used to. I can't take hot peppers like I used to and if food is too greasy, I pay a high price later on if I eat it.

<philosopher's hat>

Facts aren't hate. Truth is mutable and circumstantial to the lived experiences of human beings.

Saw in the news that Sharon and Ozzy are moving out of California and going to the U.K..  Can't say as I blame them.  A lot of people leaving that state because of the highest tax rate in the nation.

I appreciate it may not be this simple, but I'm not sure how moving back to the UK benefits the two? Unless there are other taxes I'm unfamiliar with then they are paying at most 12.3% in California, but they will be paying 45% tax in the UK! This assumes they are in the highest tax brackets

For the past several months I have been cataloging my record collection. I did this once before, but the PC it sat on got cooked and it's been so long I figured it was time for a do-over. Mainly because of the vast amount of new data available online.

I started at the first one and am going alphabetically. Artist, Album name, label, catalog number, release date, format (LP, 45, Ep, etc), type (first pressing, reissue, wlp, etc), country, cover grade, vinyl grade, and any notes I feel are pertinent.

I just finished with "J", and am at 643.

California has 10 personal income tax rates, ranging from 0% to 13.3% as of 2021. The highest rate of 13.3%, is the highest in the nation, and begins at incomes of $1 million or more for single filers as of 2021. This increases to incomes of $1,198,024 or more for spouses or registered domestic partners who file jointly. The 13.3% rate is referred to as the "millionaire's tax." It's an added 1% surcharge over the top 12.3% rate that applies to other taxpayers.

California is known for tacking additional excise taxes on certain products. California adds an additional tax to cigarettes and gasoline. A pack of cigarettes will cost you an extra $2.87 there as of July 2021. The tax used to be just 87 cents. Legislation ramped it up by an additional $2 on April 1, 2017.  Gasoline will run you an additional 51.1 cents a gallon under legislation that began increasing the tax incrementally effective Nov. 1, 2017.  That's the highest rate in the country. In 2021, the average California driver paid $4.65 per gallon compared to the national average of $3.32.

The state's property taxes aren't that bad.  The effective rate is 0.74% as of 2022.

So when you add all these taxes to your federal income tax, look out.   :twitch:

Well that ain't nothing yet!

In Finland if you make more than a million your income tax % is 56.3!!

If you make  100000€ your tax% is 42.4.

In fuel the tax rate is 60%...the 95 octane gas costs here 2.05€ per liter right now. That's roughly 8.46$ per US Gallon.

A Pack of smokes costs around 9€ 52% of which is taxes.

So if you think California is bad....it's a goddamn paradice compared to Finland.
And with all of these taxes Finland's debt is still one of the highest in Europe...

Clearly, taxes need to be raised to pay down that debt  :ninja:
