Today, passing through a gas station to refuel, waiting for this fat woman in front of me to finally figure out how to use the pump, i see a completely alcoholic man walking with difficulty on the sidewalk that runs along the very frequented street. And at this moment, I see this little ball of hair following, without a leash; it was a Yorkshire puppy a few weeks old. This guy wasn't even paying attention except when a husky dog on a leash came to sniff him, so the little thing wanted to take refuge in the hedge bordering the station. I was just disgusted with this so sad sight. How did this wreck get this young dog ? Who irresponsible person agreed to give him such a helpless little creature? At any time, the little dog could cross the street and was done. I've been thinking about it ever since I saw him hoping with all of my whole heart that this dog has just one chance to enjoy a better life with people who will give him the attention he deserves. so sad. how a man can indulge in such a downfall ? I would never understand that and yet I also had my share of difficult times like everyone else. I don't drink a drop of alcohol because I have seen up close the damage that it causes in a family and I don't smoke either.
I will never have respect nor compassion for these people, ever.
I just cross my fingers for lovin' little York.

I'm not much of a drinker either, but it does surprise me that someone who grew up in France never has a glass of wine with dinner.

I don't drink alcohol, either... makes for some interesting reactions in places like Paris or Moscow where alcohol is integral to the culture.

My thought of the day. How would people feel if Tony did a Spirit of Sabbath tour or a series of shows. He could hire a singer that could best sing the Ozzy stuff and another singer to best sing the Dio stuff. Heck he could even bring Tony Martin along as well who could inturn bring his backup singer to help him with the high parts. Set list of about 18 songs with an even split between the 3 eras with some Ozzy era songs that haven’t been played live since the 70’s? Geezer on bass of coarse  ;)

I think it would generate intense debate among dedicated fans, as anything having to do with Sabbath does. More so because of the different singers! And what about Bill Ward's contract? And although Jeff Fenholt has departed this mortal plane, where's does his tribute fit in? Sharon probably keeping it out of the musical! And will Holo-Ronnie make an appearance??

Gah, the controversy!

My thought for the day: you guys on this forum are a top-flight bunch and I'm proud to be associated with you all!

In all seriousness, if they marketed it as Iommi/Butler The Spirit of Sabbath I think it would work and have fans of all eras pumped to see it. It’s not like they’re touring as Black Sabbath and I can’t see it putting the Osbourne noses out of joint. I think it’s a better idea and less niche than just seeing Tony play his solo stuff.

I don't know, if Tony wanted to do something I sure we would have heard rumours by now.

Having said that it's an interesting idea, and I'd like to see it.

Its not like he can plan anything concrete at the moment with the current circumstances.

My second preferred option would be for him to form a supergroup of sorts, a la “Them Crooked Vultures”

Last Monday, I noticed a small katydid hanging out on top of the chest freezer we have in our garage. Tuesday morning, I noticed it again, except it now had three legs instead of four. Maybe a different bug? I don't believe so. That morning, I set my extended pointing finger about two inches from it, and it reached out with one of it's very long antennas and touched my finger. It immediately jumped away and fell behind the freezer.

Later that same day, I noticed it was back. I did the same "finger" thing, except this time after the first antenna reached out, it moved the second antenna to my finger as well, and didn't jump.

Everyday it was somewhere on that freezer, and everyday I'd get my finger a little closer to it. It seemed the bug was getting accustomed to me somehow. I eventually named it Gabe. And he was getting a little larger throughout the week.

Yesterday afternoon I noticed Gabe chilling at his usual spot. We did the bug version of a high-five, and I proceeded to open the freezer. Gabe jumped off.

I haven't seen Gabe since. I don't want to prematurely mourn the little guy, but I think a group of crickets must have eaten him. Or he just died. Not a lot of greenery in my garage, and his bug logic prevented him from getting the hell out of the garage.

In areas where you and I live, which have distinct seasons, katydids live for less than a year.  So I'm afraid Gabe was close to the end of his life.  Katydids are rarely seen because they are nocturnal, but you hear them a lot because they are noise makers like crickets.  Nearly every year 1 or 2 katydids appear on the stone steps to my home.  In fact I saw them last week.  I think near the end of their lives they become confused and no longer hide from the daylight.  Hear is a picture I toke of one years ago near those steps.

Bugs in general don't make for long-lasting pets. Beef cattle, same thing. Never get emotionally close to a steer.
