Mick Jagger - Great songwriter & performer but was he ever much a great singer? Unique yes, but neither a great singer or nice timbre to his voice for mine. Kinda messy and all over the shop. People say he’s still got it but did he ever have it in the first place? Other singers his vintage set a much higher bar that was much harder to get even close to in their later careers.

I've never been much of a Stones fan, but from what I've heard I don't think Jagger is what you could call a "Great" singer...kind of same vein as Ozzy...no technical talent but quite unique and gets the job done...sometimes better than other times.

Actually I think you were contacted a Billy imposter spirit now...

As Billy always also did admit that Ozzy wasn't a techincally talented singer. Billy liked singers that weren't techincally proficient...and actually didn't like singers who were...I think the only singer that he liked who was also technically accomplished was Freddy Mercury.

I quite like The Rolling Stones output from about 1967-1975. Jaggers vocals have never been anything special but they fit the songs that were written for him... in much the same way that Sabbath wrote songs which suited Ozzy's vocals.

That's not a red card moment... it's just a fact, it doesn't mean Ozzy can't sing. And no one else has ever really matched Ozzy on those songs.
