So was watching the Sunset Strip doco on prime last night and a song at the 50.40 mark had a strong resemblance to another song by a band we all know and love. Does anyone know what song and by who is at the 50.40 mark? Or maybe it was just a piece of music written for the doco?

That riff does sound familiar.  I use to have an app on my cell phone where you could play a small portion of a song and it would tell you the song.  If anyone has that, please try it.

The riff in the video sounds very much like A National Acrobat

There are a LOT of versions of that song, mostly live. It's possible the soundtrack part came from a live performance where it's stripped back more... or maybe the band walked into the studio and cut a short riff for their buddy making the movie.
