The last 10-15 years in particular has been overrun with hip hop and dancing pop queens. I’ve always preferred my musical artist to be off broadway or off the radar from popular culture anyway but it’s hard to foresee another Led Zeppelin, AC/DC or Metallica level rock/metal band ever coming along again.

Can't believe you don't have Black Sabbath on the list and before Zeppelin.

Black Sabbath don't appear in the video whilst the other 3 did. BS didn't have the mass appeal even though they were quite successful. Even Iron Maiden and Deep Purple failed to make the video.

Folks need to adjust data for per capita consumption rates and adjust for inflation...

... meanwhile, I'm looking at data and trends in it. Hoping that nations can slow and halt the spread of COVID-19 through sensible policies and not because it already ripped through everyone in the country, so it can't infect no more.

Goddamnit... The constant wind that we've been having for the past "winter" has uprooted one of my big yard trees a bit and it's bit leaning now...and the placement is bit tricky as it's inbetween two buildings and powerlines....and it's leaning right towards a building... well a specialist is coming to take a look in the morning...hopefully it'll stay up that long or I'm gonna be building a new workout room and losing my Donald Duck collection plus shitload of other stuff if it falls...

Assaults of strong spring winds can cause more damage than  winter winds, trees having more upwind with their foliage ... it sucks

Well it's a big spruce (about 50cm thick)...but the fact that there's been so much wind and no ground freeze at all this winter it has caused it to uproot a bit. It's loose about an inch from the other side...

Granted I've had an eye out for it for few years now thinking it needs be cut but never got around to it because I knew it would be crazy expensive as you need specialists and maybe a crane too...but now there's no choice or it'll take out my workout/storage space when it goes...and it's not if it goes it's when at this point.

Meanwhile, it's a record high here in Dallas - 93F. The high tomorrow is supposed to be something like 64F.

That is quite true. But truth be told Dances With Wolves is more "oscar material" anyways than Goodfellas.

I've seen Dances with Wolves once and Goodfellas 3 times...and honestly if I'd have to choose now which one to watch...it wouldn't even be a moments thought before Goodfellas dvd would go into the player.

My own thought of the day is...gooddamn that tree came down easily and the guy was waaaaay too cheap too. I would have happily paid him more than he asked for the job!

I didn't realise how long Dances With Wolves was when I watched it on rental many years ago... gave up after 2 hours... it's not an unworthy film just not for me. I don't really remember Goodfellas it's been that long since I watched it, so I've just added it to my rental list to remind myself.

As for the tree surgeon, he can probably sell the timber and get some money back from that.

Nope. All wood was left for me. I'll make some 2x4s for the greenhouse and rest will go to firewood.

There he was....and still climbed another 15 feet before cut the top and started cutting down the trunk while decending...



Not bad for a fellow 67 years young!
