I know i'll get there sometime, but i wonder when that point will come. Feels like it's been there for a long time, really...
It really felt good after having been sober for a while, when the brain was starting to clear up again. But it was fucking boring too, and all i wanted was to get stoned. And when i got stoned it wasn't any good at all any longer. All the old mindfuck came back and i just wanted to be sober again. Come being sober, and all i wanna do is get stoned... 

I guess that's addiction and 18 years of conditioning...

It is a constant battle of the will. I know I have said this already but Marijuana is a medecine. Sure it can be abused but it is so much better than say alcohol or pills, as I know you know 

Never give up, and you will have achieved where you want to be in regards to intoxicants.

I think it can be argued that benzos, opiates and amphetamines are used as medicines too... It's all about use/overuse and reason for use.
The place i was at is actually called Clinic for Intoxication and Addictive Medicine. It's not unusual that people who've been under long time morphine treatment or having used benzos for anxiety or insomnia without having used them "to have fun" have to go there, it's not just "alcoholics, stoners & junkies"...

Actually, i read in some info-thingy there that the recommended period for using benzos for treatments is just a week. That's something to think about considering i've been taking them for 6-7 years... Fuck, those withdrawals. Even hardcore smack junkies says they're worse and longer lasting than opiate withdrawals.

You have said this before.  You must occupy your mind with something else, something you want to accomplish.  Set up a goal for yourself.  Perhaps you are not as ambitious as I am, I don't know.  But I always found that staying busy minimizes negative thoughts.

^^^ Today i've tidied and cleaned the living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and shed, taking alot of crap to the dump, tidied up in the closet and three drawers of clothes, hung up birdfeeders and some pictures that've been standing 'round forever and put stacks of books back in the shelves. And done the dishes and taken out the garbage. After i've had a joint break now i'm going to go through two drawers of papers that've piled up over the last handful of years and refurnish the TV, Stereo and video game consol cabinets.

Coincidentally, I am cleaning my office room which is filthy.  My vacuum throws a lot of heat, so I hardly use it all summer.  Today, however, is a cold rainy day out.

You are right they are medicines as well. You know me marijuana is cure all 

I have been on benzos since 2008 - specifically Clonazepam as you are aware. I am having a hell of a time but thankfully the doc is going very slow.

But my advice would be to just throw the benzos away and be done with it. They give the sickest withdrawals, so just slowly tormenting yourself doesn't sound too good. Atleast you've got your ganja and sister fine to ease off with. I had to come down from both THC and benzo without anything to take the edge off. Sufficient to say ALOT of cigarettes, e-cig vape and chewing tobacco was used at the time...

A mix of nitrazepam, codeine and THC/CBD have left me feeling pretty good right now, though...

I have been using the CBD oil as well for my anxiety, really works - and I must say it left me pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, that would be nice to check out. It's the THC/CBD ratio that's the reason why i've always preferred hash to pot.
