Interesting how we got to have 3 out in the Ozzy round faster than in the other eras round. And it's not that TE, NSD, and 13 are wretched albums, just that next to the other 6, they're perceived as being weaker - and we all seem to have a consensus around that.

Likewise, the Dio-era albums shook out quite predictably, with MR and H&H in the top two slots.

For the other eras, though, it's kind of a mixed bag, what we think is best or worst of those albums. Tyr and HC and SS pretty much took heat, but that's not to say it's because there's universal hatred for them and none of the others... look at Forbidden with 18, ahead of BA! I'd say it's more of a matter of the group deciding to take care of first things first and that Forbidden's star is about to fall, with BA, EI, and CP in the top three of the "other eras", and I think that's about right.

Due to the new rules you put in after the game had started, there was some tactics regarding the three bottom Ozzy era ones which probably helped things move along faster. I'm puzzled that one of the three that should share first place at the moment looks like it'll end up at nr. 6, though... I'm also surprised that Tyr and HC went out before 7thS and Forbidden.
I haven't heard enough of TDYK to really have a say, but i would've ranked the Dio-albums as is, atleast with MR first and H&H second.

I would have had the order from first to go like this NSD TE 13 but I am okay with that...

It's really hard to say which one should be next to go...but considering the second side of Sabotage is so much weaker than the first one I wouldn't mind seeing it go next.

SS should have been the first to go...but I guess I was expecting HC to go first...but now things are getting bit harder there too...

It's really hard to say which one should be next to go...but considering the second side of Sabotage is so much weaker than the first one I wouldn't mind seeing it go next.

NO! BS, MoR and Sabt should've had a shared first place. With those three album you get pretty much everything the original band was all about.
Paranoid and SBS a shared fourth and Vol 4 the sixth if not a shared fourth. Just my opinion, ofcourse, but everyone knows that my opinion equals the truth... I could even put NSD! as a shared fourth along with those three, but i'm realistic enough to see that would be a no-go for most others...

I don't like ranking albums, that's why i prefer putting them in bulks instead. Exept those bottom three, they're easier to distinguish.

The Dio years went as they should have...all brilliant albums but that is the correct order...hell Mob Rules is the best and most consistent album Sabbath has ever put out so...

I've said many a times that back when i still enjoyed those albums, Mob was the best one. Dehumanizer were miles below Mob and H&H, it kinda got lumped in with the Iommi solo albums (you know what i mean...), coloured by what i feel was a lack of inspiration and drive during those years, however well a job Powell did helping in trying to get a legendary name back on track. His role during that era is underestimated. Might've been more consistent if he'd been part of Deh and CP. Damn horses...
If i'd still been into that type of Metal by the time TDYK came, it could've ended above Deh. Hard to say, it's all just what-ifs...

One reason HC and Tyr went out so quick might be because there's alot of non continental Europeans here. Those albums was more successful here than in the U.S. and U.K. But still... 7th being "better"..?

Of the remaining six Ozzy era albums I don't mind the order in which they finish. To me there's always been very little between them...They're all masterpieces in their own right and whatever album I'm listening to at any given moment it could be my favourite. It's like trying to pick your favourite child...

Am a little surprised with the margin in which MR won though. I'm pretty sure H&H use to always come out on top in polls at the other joint.
I love all the Dio era albums but H&H has always stood apart to me. Love the diversity from track to track and the overall feel of the music having one foot in the 70's & the other foot in the streamlined metal sound of the 80's.

As for the other era's. I cant honestly say I love any of them. I've always dug CP & SS and can listen to them more than any of the others but the fact BA has 3 originals members along with one of the all time great singers of rock means I respect it more than the rest of other era albums combined.

BS is a fun album, but I'll be taking points from it because of the six, I think it's the weakest. I just don't listen to it. Sabotage... that one, I play a lot.

Forbidden takes another whack and I give the point to EI because I love the hell out of that album. Whereas other Martin-era stuff besides CP is pretty rough, EI is a real gem of an album, one that stands on its own feet and takes all comers.
