GreenHouse in effect! Home gardners' Corner!

Well it's spring time and that ofcourse means a new greenhouse season starts!

Do you have a greenhouse? Are you growing something? Here's the place to talk about them.

I planted my first Bell Pepper and Chili seeds in early January and they are now growing rather nicely...my first Luteus Bell Peppers are forming already and my chili's are blossoming nicely. Got about 15 or so Bell peppers and Chilis growing now. One Yellow Bell Pepper I even managed to keep alive during the winter.

Put down my tomato seeds in Feb/march and they too are growing nicely on my window sill. Got about 20 or so Tomatoes...Yellow Cherry, Purple Cherry, classic Money Maker and few others.

I'm hoping I'd be able to transfer them all to the Greenhouse in late May, but who knows...last year it was early June and then we got a long cold season that lasted most of June and halted the growth entirely..

My wife is tending the gardens this year, lots of flowers up front.

I've grown tomatoes before, but haven't had the urge to do so of late. But homegrown tomatoes are like true love, truly amazing flavor.

Well took my first tomato plants and cucumbers and bell peppers and chilis in the greenhouse today....it's bit too warm in there already so I have to spray them with water every hour or so...

But this is a record though...never have I been able to take plants out this early. Hell last year at this time we had +7C (45F)!!!

I might want to get a greenhouse, if for no other reason than to have a place to grow things without having the birds get to them... but it gets to 40C easily here in Texas... would that mean that the greenhouse can get too hot?

Wouldn't that be Cacti? :D Yeah I know this is a good way to get punched in the nose but couldn't help it! :D

But yeah ZZZ you'd have to have some sort of a shading for it....cause when outdoor temp is around 20C it can be 40C inside the greenhouse easily if left unattented...and that's already death for most plants...

But some chilis would probably do okay especially with hydroponics...

Things are starting to ripen up in my greenhouse

Tomatoes are getting some color:

Same with my Apache chilis:

Erotica Chili isn't changing color yet but should be close:

My pumpkins are growing too...maybe just maybe this year I can actually have some pumpkins to carve for Halloween!

Do you grow organically or do you use commercially-produced pesticides/foods?

I use pesticides and fertilizers when needed...I don't give a flying rats ass about organic. Hate the whole concept of it! Plus nothing would grow like that anyways. :D
