Oh....storms are awesome but when they cause damage then they aren't quite so cool anymore. Good to hear you made it through buddy!

Yeah, storms in the USA are the best argument for below-ground power lines. Tree falls over, you keep power.

True but it would raise the price of electricity quite a bit. We had a huuuge project here putting most of the powerlines below ground...it nearly doubled the price of electricity for the average home owner...crazy. And here there really wasn't much need for it but the idiot politicans decided to make it a law that no poweroutage can last more than 24h....so power companies reacted and the consumer paid the price.

That's why choices are always bad things: you can't have it both ways!

At this very moment, heavy rain, frequent lighting and thunder.  I'd swear it is the beginning of Sabbath's debut album.  All I need is to hear the bells toll.   :death:

Heat wave is coming...

It's been around 75-77F for the past few days but at the end of the week it is expected to climb over 30C (85F)...too hot for my liking.

They think we might break our record in the UK sometime this week... currently 36.7C from 2015.

EDIT: that's the July record apparently we've had a 38C in August.

It was sunny today but our summer has been very mild with many overcast days. That is fine with me as I prefer it to be a bit cool outside.

38°C already at noon in full south side of the house. 25°C in the house. Not easy to sleep under the roof with 30°C in the bedrooms.
we had only 2 or 3 days of rain since the beginning of the month. It's even hotter in the rest of the country, which has the bad effect of seeing many more tourists here in the west of the country in Brittany where the heat is always less intense because of the Atlantic ocean proximity.

That's what Vyn and I had this past weekend.  I still prefer it verses freezing temps, though.  8)

Yes, wise guy, but mostly for sleeping.  In the winter, I have a heater.  :smug:

They were expecting it to break the all time record in the UK today (38.5C back 2003) but we didn't quite manage that only hitting 38.1C near Cambridge, it should be cooler tomorrow.
