Criteria is simple - is it a tender farewell to a dearly departed loved one? NOPE

- is it a philosophical reflection on the nature of things changing? NOPE

- is it a song about how if I never see you again, it'll be too soon?  WINNER

^ The spirit of that moment, but in song form.

Can be about any sort of breakup, be it a job, leaving a crappy place, ending a relationship, getting rid of a junky car, or dealing with terrible customer service. I'm not picky so long as there's that take-charge attitude about ending things on your terms, sayonara and buh-bye.

Ah yes, Patti Smyth - the perkiest breakup song ever. Good times.

Beautiful vocals on the Dark Element song, I enjoyed that one very much, Charger!

Today, I am reminded of Megalomania, which *might* be the only breakup song Black Sabbath did. Best case, one of a small, small handful. Rather than go for the version on Sabotage, I wanted to go with the Asbury Park live performance. No studio stuff, comes across with a sharper, raw edge.

Ozzy's range and delivery in this performance is amazing. The fast part is faster than in the studio, with even more consequent punch and bite. Excellent, excellent version.

^ Thanks to Vyn and Charger, the YT algo is now trying to figure out how I went from David Bowie doing "White Light / White Heat" (something I was playing before coming here) to Lizzo and then to Mötorhead. Always feels good to mess with the algo.

Gonna stick with Lemmy & Co. for my next pick, as I was reminded of it with Charger's selection. My fave track from Another Perfect Day, "Dancing on Your Grave."

As the title implies, it's a bit of a strong breakup tune.
